Back in the 70's a lot of southern guitar players used a glass bottle that cold tablets came in (I believe Coricidin was the brand).

Just a guess...and this came to me this afternoon when I was tuning up the Mustang and was changing the plugs. #8 is a **** to get to and dropped the spark plug socket (about 3 inches long) into the engine bay. Only way I could get it out was to stick my finger in it and get it out. Pulled it out and it looked just like a guitar slide. My first guess would have been some sort of bottle but you said it was metal. Plus it has to be something out of the ordinary or it wouldn't be a trivia question. So I will say a deep socket.

shack has his thinking cap on. Yes, he used a 11/16 Sears deep socket. He wanted to get a steel sound and found the socket was perfect.

    Congrats, it's all yours.

I guess it depends on what part of the country the hog is from.

Anyway - Who played lead guitar on Edgar Winter Group's 1973 hit "Frankenstein"?

Correct! Edgar had quite a group for this album in 1972. Himself, Rick Derringer, Ronnie Montrose, Dan Hartman and Johnny Badanjek (The drummer for Mitch Ryder And The Detroit Wheels) - all excellent muscians in their own right.

jgido759 - you have the floor!

    OK, here goes:

What recording duo from the 60's sang uncredited back-up on the Phil Spector "Wall Of Sound" recordings by the Crystals, Ronettes, etc.?

    The Everly Brothers...or...The Righteous Brothers?

Are 2 guesses in the same post allowed?

If not ...oh well...these are the only 60s duo I could think of.

OK, this should stump you all!

Who sang the song "Pencil Neck Geek" on a famously twisted, yet syndicated, radio show?

Bonus points if you can name the radio show!

Man, sorry for the delay. Still on the road here and having access problems.

Pretty sure that the "artist" was "Classy" Freddie Blassie and as I said before the show was Dr. Demento... Not positive who Freddie was singing about, but want to say it was another "manager", Jimmy(?) Hart, "The Mouth of the South".
