Hello fellow ICE CLUB members,
I have just a few rules I would like you all to follow.

1) You must post your new ICE system.
Detail on wiring and setup.
2) I want a review. I does not need to be professional, but I would like to know how your system is and why you love it.
3) Respect one another. Please no fighting or bashing other member, this will void your member ship. Discuss your differences like respectable members, not jerks like I see around our loved forum.
4) Help other to your best ability or direct new memebers to others who can help them
5) Just enjoy your system and Welcome to the OFFICIAL ICE CLUB.

Official President of the ICE CLUB

I just checked the original thread to see if I qualified for the ICE CLUB but I dont :( I have a Rotel 1085 with ICE innards. I am however glad that the D-class amp sections are getting some respect though. Originally I was being steered away from the D-class amps by anyone I asked including the owner of the Specialty Audio shop who kept trying to sell me 80 lb amps even after I said I needed something small because my TV stand only has 6 inches of height for it and only has a weight capacity of 75 lbs. His response was "Get a new TV stand" instead of "Oh ok! I guess the D-class amp WOULD suit your needs". He seemed to be more interested in my ordering the piece when I showed him the money :D

Ive been into the ICEAmps/Class D for some time as well. When I began looking for my 2 channel amp, I searched long and hard and came across D-Sonic via Audiogon. Did some more digging and reading via AVS and pulled the trigger on my 1000S. So welcome to the club, Rotel is a nice amp you have.

Rule #3 is a great idea. I asked a question about cables last week and someone with less posts than me got on and went nuts on everyone. This is just a hobby, although quite an obsessive one...

Here's my original question....has anyone ever THOUGHT about placing your 05 / 07 in some type of cabinet, even with a cooling fan and the back completely open. The manual states 'leave 60cm on top and 30 CM on sides'. I started to rebuild by cabinet, then checked the manual...

That's an excessive amount of clearance for something that should be running pretty cool. You may want to contact Pioneer to see if that's a misprint, they may have forgotten a couple of decimal points.

Thats what I thought, but it sounds like a good reason to buy a new tower...I'm thinking if it has 3"on top, and 3" on both sides, with the back completely open, it should be safe. I may even put the fan in one side of the cabinet also.

I put 05/07's in cabinets all the time. With the back open , plenty of air should be able to get in and keep everything cool. ICE receivers don't get very hot, I noticed this in the field and in my system. My rack is completely open where my 07 sits. I have no door on the front and the back is removed. I own a Salamander tripple 20 and it's awesome. I got wheels on the bottom so I can roll it out whenever I feel like making changes.
As long as air can flow, it should be fine. Do not stack anything on top of it or any gear that generates heat.

So, do we post our reviews here or do we create a new thread? I've been so busy the last couple of weeks that I still need to write my Denon vs. Pioneer review.

This is the rules thread. I will create a new one or you could use my Offical SC-07 review thread. It's up to you. I'm looking forward to your review. I respect your opinions and want to hear your thoughts.

60 cm on top? That can't be right. That's about 2 ft. I've only got about 8 inches clearance on my SC-05, and it never gets more than slightly warm, even at -10.

BTW, I have an SC-05... do I get to post here?

Yes but you are required to do a review of your system how it was living without the SC-05 and then with. You do not need to be a professional reviewer just I want to hear it in your words. Hook us up man.

    Whats up fellow Ice Members?
It's been awhile since we had a good conversation about the Mighty SC models from Pioneer ELite. With the newer models which came out SC-25 and SC-27 , I have not seen many reviews in here about them. I figured reopening up the Club could be a place where people could share their experiences.
I still own my Sc-07 and have no plans on letting here go (until the new SC models come out with IP control and Blu Tooth).
So this is an open invite for anyone wanting to talk about their ICE models.

Still have mine in my theater bro. Also paired up with an external Iceamp. Enjoying my setup very much with no intent of changing anything. My SC-07 has performed very well for me. I'm getting more into the video side of things in my setup, buying calibration gear.

Awesome man , good to hear. Video is a hard subject for me. I'm a ISF calibrator and I'm still not a Master of video.
I have been in the field doing calibrations for years and I'm pretty good at it but I don't have a very deep understanding of all things video. It's kinda confusing at times. I get it and then I don't . I think the problem in a nutshell for video is that not everyone follows a standard. Many times I ISF a display or Projector and I have to tweak it to make it work for all video sources. I also calibrate the entire chain not just the end display.
Most people don't like a correct calibrated display. I always have to do some personal taste adjustments as well.
Let me know what kind of calibration gear your looking at , it gets real expensive. My rig is over 10k and it's not out of date. I want the new stuff but it's crazy expensive.

Thanks in part to Sherardp :) helping me buy a SC-27 :) I believe I could now be part of the ICE club. But, I still havent had a chance to completly set up all of my speakers yet and run the calibation to give a decent review. However, I can say is that I orginally planned on getting the SC-27 for HT but now I am spending most of my time just listening to 2.1 channel stuff enjoying the improvments the SC-27 have made to my speakers.

    Hi, Sir Dan.

I own the Pio SC05 for over a year now. Does it qualify me to be a citizen of Ice Club?

Here a question for those who own the SC05: I recently bought a HP 201101nr and I registered with the Pandora One for $36.00 annual fees. To my amaze, this Pandora sounds so smooth and details that I do not believe I will need any upgrade for a while.

Does any one use any external DACS and achieve a better result?

Sir Dan.... I kinda like that. Nice!!

    Anyhow ,
Yes you can be in the club but a review will have to follow in your words. Don't worry about making it audiophile like , I'd rather read it in your words anyway.
As far as external DAC's the internal DAC's are some of the industries best. I don't see any need for external DAC's.
