It's a 298 with a modded Rega 250 and Shelter 501.
As Dan Quayle said, "It's a terrible thing to lose one's mind" :-P

I can't think of any audio equipment I have which would be a no-sell item. I guess the hardest thing to part with would be my pair of 1.2's. I hardly ever use them anymore but much like a classic hot rod they are a lot of fun when I do.Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -

Sansui AU-717 Integrated amplifier that I bought new in 1979. I still use it for my 2 channel system. Its a duel monoblock system, and you can seperate the power and pre amp sections with a switch on the back (so you can hook up a seperate power or preamp to it if you want) Weight is aprox 40 lbs and its Dead Quiet even now.Home Theatre.............

I asked him to hook them I so I can see that they work before I got there. The guy calls me as I'm on the way to his house and says "You shouldn't have asked me to hook them up. I listened to them and I've decided to keep them."
I've been keeping my eye open for either the DQM-9 or DQ-10's. My only concern is how hard it is to get a hold of proper replacement parts.
The DQM-9 has absolutely nothing to do with the DQ-10....other than that they are both loudspeakers.
The DQ-10's are both a sentimental fave, as they were my first venture into hifi. I'd also say that while flawed, you'd still be hard pressed to find a more musical speaker.

Oops, I forgot about the DQ-10's in my upstairs "screening room". Those would also be the last on my list if I had to sell stuff. They are always a pleasure to listen to! Ugly as sin without the covers on them but they are not going anywhere.Vinyl, the final frontier...

I can not think of anything that I would sell that is in the current line up. I have been very careful about the gear selection that makes up this system that took a few years of try this and try that to settle on whats here. Im very happy with it and see no reason to sell any of it. Ever.!!!:rolleyes:Amps- Nakamichi PA 7 & PA 5.

Most of my vinyl.
None of my vinyl will go. I will probably hang on to the B&W 602's; they're my first 'real' speaker and they always sound good. I haven't used my Dynaco PAT4 or Stereo 120 for a decade or 2 and I've moved 3 times, but they always seem to be in the closet somewhere. probably because I built them...Dual 1229/Grado Gold/Rotel RCD1070/RC995/RB980BX/Pioneer 7100/Denon DRM710/Monster HTS3600MKII/PolkAudio SDA2B/TL's -

just like my polk ls50's I bought them new $600 now they are not worth much and shipping is crazy $$ .
So it would be a big lose and I would kick myself because they sound soooo
good . -
I don't think I could ever part with my Carvers Amazing Silvers. That and the Thiels I got for cheap. Both very different speakers but both are great and bring me a lot of joy to listen to.

As I've learned in the past couple of years basically every piece of gear is replaceable or upgradeable to something better/different. That being said I could never let go of the solid oak stereo cabinet my grandfather built. And it would be tough to replace the Celestion Si speaker stands.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

I've given this some consideration now. If replacement cost is not a factor, I can let almost anything go and get something else that I would enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I would be very, very disapointed to give up my CRS+'s, my A/D/S L9e's, my LS-90s, or any of my NAD gear, but in the grand scheme of things, I don't get too attached to any material goods.
Oh, and, the HSU and SVS subs would be hard to let go too, but they are probably the easiest pieces to replace.
Still, a great thought-provoking thread.
Well, two years later and the ADS are still here (sort of). The LS-90s are gone, the CRS+'s are gone (I have a new set). The subs are still here.
I have added to my NAD gear and have some ADS 710's on the way.
I guess eventually we move almost everything to try something new. More often than not, I end up getting the good stuff again - LS-90s (a couple times) and CRS+'s come to mind.
Ironically, the first receiver I ever bought was an H/K 495i. A couple months ago, I traded it in at the new audio place here in DFW. The guy sold shortly thereafter and took it back in on trade this last weekend. I picked it up this morning and I will be keeping it this time as I have the original box and paperwork to go with it.
