So to bi-amp i would need another amp (a matching one right? in my case XPA-3) another set of matching IC's, a matching set of speaker wire (same length) and Y connectors for the back of my receiver? Not that i am going to do this just curious if i understand this correctly.

I thought you could do this with the same amp as well, as long as you have the free channels to use.

Yes, basically. You need channels, doesn't matter if it's same amp or a different amp. It's still the same concept.

So there's not much difference without the extra amp when Bi-wiring???? I was looking to buy a small/meduim size amp to hook up to the center channel along with my AVR354

Ok,I gotta ask.........why do you only want to amp the center?? You would be better off to amp the front 3 speakers for better sound,if thats the goal.

I bought wires and interconnects at monoprice (good stuff and good price) and you probably won't find any "bi-wire" or "bi-amp" speaker wire. Just buy a reel of speaker wire, some banana plugs (or whatever you want to terminate them with.... or just leave it as bare wire). If bi-amping just connect 2 channels from amp to the dual terminals on your speakers and make sure to remove the jumper. Bi-wiring is basically a waste of time and serves the same effect as increasing the gauge of speaker wire. If you are already using 14 or 12 gauge wire then its not worth it.

I see that you have an XPA-3 which already puts out a massive amount of juice. What would you bi-amp with?

The differnce won't be huge.... you already have great speakers and a great amp. With my UPA-7 and RTi10's i noticed a difference that was worthwhile but your speakers and amp are even better so who knows what will happen.

Well if i thought about doing it i would just add another XPA-3.

Nope, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
But this is my first Amp, and i sort of bought it on a whim.
I'm very interested in trying something else, specifically, a Sunfire Amp.

Don't get me wrong here, i think it sounds great. I'm just the type of person who doesn't settle easily so i need to hear something else. Plus, i enjoy buying new things! :p
