I know what you mean. IF we make any money this year, it won't be much. Depends on if we will be able to dodge the bulk of the recession problems. Good thing we are well capitalized. Hopefully 2010 will be better.

Very interesting Hawkeye. I was in the air force for 12 years and once worked on a restoration project restoring a Mosquito Bomber. My job was to do a bonding survey on the wings. Unfortuatly, a new Squadron CO took over and reclaimed the hanger space before we finished. We were pretty close to finishing. A big disappointment.

What type of aircraft did you work on?

You would have an infinite amount of work in NYC especially with the subways. Of course, you would have to join a Union

Screw unions and screw cold weather. I have NOTHING but nice things to say about New York [especially the wildlife and parks, West Point, accents, pizza, women to mention just a few] but I have to be honest......I hate cold weather.

Graffiti is nationwide and it's growing. MS-13 alone keeps me busy, not to mention the 10,000 or so other gangs......

........drill a small hole at roughly a 45 degree angle into the cambium layer of the tree, about 2-3 inches in depending on the size of the tree itself. Then you have to strap this nutrient/treatment pack around the trunk and insert a feeder tube into the hole that you drilled. The pack get's strapped down.....

Thanks Curt I really was curious, so I guess then yes it really is an injection more or less an IV.

What type of aircraft did you work on?

The guy I worked for had his own private air force. He is up to about 35 aircraft right now! I had the pleasure of working on, and this is just a short list:

    AD4 SkyRaider
    FG1 Corsair
    Spitfire
    Hurricane
    Stearman
    T28C

If you'd like to see the full line up, try this link.http://www.fighterfactory.com/

It was the best job I ever had. Did not pay much, but the opportunity to do this type of work was worth it for several years.

It's pretty amazing to see the diversity of people on this site who are into audio. I would have never predicted such a thing. Perhaps a more interesting post would be...

Considering your avocation how, where, and what brought you into such a concern with audio and with Polk in particular. My own entry was coming from a musical family and my college years...but I suspect the diversity of the audio-calling is as great as what everyone does for a living here.

I have to also add that what we have above is probably mostly but not entirely accurate. And we have some amusement as usual.

I've always been a great lover of music. Everyone in my family is, so I just grew up around it. My dad is a huge Zeppelin fan, so I grew up listening to it a lot. My older brother followed the Grateful Dead around on tour for several years in the late 80's and early 90's, up until Jerry's untimely death...So the Dead have always been a big part of my life, and are basically my favorite band now.

My brother is also a guitar player, which inspired me to start playing guitar myself. I've been playing for about 8 years now, and it's one of my biggest passions in life. Music is really where it's at for me...it's the essence of life in my opinion.

I've always been into stereo equipment, but I've never really had any good equipment until recently. Not that my stereo's have ever been pieces of junk...they were better than all of my friends, but they weren't exactly high end equipment either. As far as getting into Polk, I just happened across them. I bought my Onkyo AVR about 6 months or so ago, and was looking for some new speakers to go with it. I looked around at several brands, including Klipsch, Infinity, DCM...and Polk. I went and listened to all of them, and the Polk's were what sounded best to me, so here I am.

I have a pair of Monitor 7A's now, I just bought a pair of Mini Monitors the other day, which I should be receiving in a couple weeks or so. I also have a deal for a set of RTi's set up, which I should be picking up about the middle of next month. Some SDA's will be coming along eventually too.
