AAAAAH you effers! I just opened another door in audio hell;).

ok, I called my dealer earlier today. He said to skip the P1. He said he has a much nicer Music Hall and he has a nice phono pre as well.
I am sooooo excited!!!! I'm going there on Tuesday to get the TT. Yeah! I will have to check my funds to see if I can get the Sota.

btw, I found a super kick **** vinyl store. A whole floor dedicated to vinyl (used and new). They even have new releases, and hell, even black metal on vinyl! So today, I picked up Queen (QueenII), Queen (A Day at the Races) and Carpathian Forest (F*ck You All). Both Queen albums are American re-issues and Carpathian Forest is UK pressing. Going back tomorrow before work to get more vinyl

:D:D:D Can you tell I'm excited? My first TT rig:D:D:D

    Good for you :) !

There's just something about that full analog signal that's missing from even the best digital units. I'm listening to the Genesis Abacab LP right now and the depth and breadth of the soundstage is just amazing.

You can also almost get rid of the few db's of background noise with a modest investment. Get at least a basic (approx $40) hand-held cleaning system to pull some of the dust and grit out of the vinyl, and a ($20) graphite brush to cut static bit, and your on your way (you can spend $600 bucks on a microwave oven sized automatic LP washing unit later) ;).

Well, one thing about spinning vinyl. If you get to a track that you don't really care for. Too bad, you have to listen to it or get up and move the needle over to the next. I think it makes you appreciate all the music on the album as a whole, better. If that makes any sense. BTW congrats.;)

Not being able to skip a song without getting up is not a problem. I agree, even with cd's, I usually force myself to listen to the whole album unless the music is really bad.

LOL I just saw one of those big **** record cleaners. wow! I found one of those small hand held red brush for cleaning my vinyl. How much pressure am I suppose to use? I"m assuming, you clean it while the vinyl is spinning on the platter?

I went back to the store today and found more nice stuff. Best stuff I found today would be Eagles (Hotel California) new audiophile 180g, and Eagles (On the Border) in VG+ condition. I think I have enough records now to listen non stop on Tuesday.

I am going to do a DIY cleaner soon. I don't have the funds to buy one, and I feel I can build a solid unit on the cheap;)

the unit measure of music appreciation used to be the album side. Twenty minutes, give or take.

To quote George Carlin, "You don't have to be Fellini" to figure out why Ravel's Bolero is just about the same length :-)

You can get a Shark steamer cleaner for $30. It will do the same job as the Mapleshade steam cleaner.

On a side note, I love Mapleshade products.

So far, I am batting 1000 with their products. I have purchased a digital IC, speaker wire, 4" maple speaker stands, and each one made a clear and obvious improvement in sound.

Visit www.acousticsounds.com sometime. They have a lot of new vinyl, much of it on 180 gram pressings.
    Vinyl, the final frontier...

Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... :D
