Studies On Residential Power Line Noise - Part 6: PS Audio Soloist Special Edition

I know this thread is fairly old, but what exactly will the soloist do that my PS Audio quintet won't ? I guess it's nice to have a in wall option, but you are limited on the amount of gear you can plug into a soloist. Wouldn't the better option be to replace your standard plug with a power port premier, then use a conditioner plugged into that ?HT SYSTEM-

The Soloist se is great on my 2 channel amp, I use the Quintet for every thing else with a power port premier. The great thing about the Soloist is you can plug a Quintet, PPP or Duet directly into it! I plan on switching out the power port premier for another Soloist se as soon as funds allow and add one more for my sub. -

The Soloist is desiged to be the first stage of power line noise filtration. It is not meant to replace external power conditioners. Ideally, the Soloist would be followed by a good quality power cord and then a power conditioner (such as the Quintet) or AC regenerator. The manual for the Quintet (page 1) says so:
"We recommend the use of a PS Soloist in-wall conditioner to feed this device. We do not recommend connecting any other power conditioning product before the Quintet or Duet."
"We strongly recommend the use of a PS Audio xStream Power AC cable and a PS Power Port AC receptacle, or Soloist AC receptacle to feed the Power Center electricity. While the supplied power cable is adequate for the task, it is not going to provide the best performance. Choosing any xStream Power cable will make a significant performance improvement over the stock power cable."

The important thing is that it works. That will be a nice looking installation once the cover plate is on the old outlet box. Since you were right next to the old box, I assume you didn't need any extension wire and that you just pulled the existing wire over to the Soloist's box?I plan on switching out the power port premier for another Soloist se as soon as funds allow and add one more for my sub.
The Solist has been DISCONTINUED! The Soloist SE was only supposed to be a limited run of 200. Then PS Audio made another 200...then they kept it around for two years due to demand. I recently bought four just to have on hand in case I need them.

I don't have any personal experience BPT products, but it seems like a good choice. Let us know how it works out.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country!

i ended up adding 2 mundorf silver oil capacitors to 2 duplex, one for preamp , amplifier,ps3 and squeezebox.
so far to me it sounds more detail than before each cap is .22uf 650ac -1000vdc,any thoughts on adding this to the power conditioner.with the ps soloist i had hum in the speakers then move to amp, after installing bpt cpc ,no hum , now with capacitors more detail .receiver- pioneer elite sc-37 thx ultra w/kimber kable.pk14.
