That's exactly what I've been reading in a ton of reviews. Dang it seems to disappoint so many too, not a good sign.

WOW really? Did you like the first one? I really enjoyed the first one. I have heard this a few times now.

Without spoiling the movie, can you make some general comments?

    Thanks man,

I loved the first one. It was AWESOME!!!! This one is so awful. It's been a Loooooooooong time since I've walked out on a movie. It's choppy, bad acting, bad crass jokes, lowest common denominator writing. Just awful. I can't believe that it's made by the same people. The person I went with wanted to leave before I did.

The first one suffered from everything you list there, other then it being unique and new. The first was nothing but an over the top action / popcorn film, this looks to be exactly the same, but with more action.

It's Michael Bay for crying out loud! What can we really expect? The first one was a novelty; people that grew up in the eighties (myself included) got a kick out of seeing the franchise on the big screen. When I saw it in the theatres I enjoyed it, despite some of the squirm worthy dialogue and pre-school humor. I have to say, when I rented it to watch a second time I only got half way through. I felt silly watching it. There is no doubt it's a great HT showcase movie, but anything more beyond that? Not really. I'm sure Revenge of the Fallen isn't much worse. We all know Michael Bay's MO, pull up his filmography, it's a greatest hits package of meaningless action pictures with cheese ball dialogue and clich

I am going to go watch it tonight. If the movie has plenty of action, and the special effects are good. I should be satisfied. However I am disappointed with the reviews, and was looking forward to this movie. I just hope its not as bad as most people say it is.

    This movie was awesome.

Anyone who does not like this obviously doesnt know what Transformers is about.

I've seen most of the cartoons and Michael Bay stayed very true to the cartoon theme. Anyone who has watched the cartoons knows those are bad. Thats not why you watch Transformers.

You watch Transformers to watch big **** robots transformer into cool things and kick alot of ****. Simple as that.

This movie delivered on those two things and then some...

There was a little bit of story --- just enough to fill in the holes between all the **** kicking and big robots.

Yep, Im happy. Ill buy it and probally see it 2 or 3 more times! :)

I grew up with the original Transformers. Watched the cartoons. Read the comic books. I know what Transformers is about. This move is the worst movie I have seen in a long time. If you liked it, great. ( but there's no hope for you ) :D

    They totally under-utilized Devastator though.

Along with every other new robot that was introduced. That's my main gripe of the whole movie, I wont go into to much detail yet but whats the point of bringing in all the new bots if not going to use them for more than back ground stand ins? And Soundwave I won't even go into how big a disappointment that was for me.

I saw the first Spike movie. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't "Transformers". The second? I'll pass on it.

I didn't think I was a die-hard purist until I saw the Spike movie. See, Transformers is about the Transformers, not Spike and Sparkplug (although they had a VERY minor role on occasion).

Spike was about Spike. Spike II will be about Spike as well.

    For you REAL Transformer fans:
"You call this a coronation? I call this bad comedy!"
    "Megatron - is that YOU?!"
    "Here's a hint."
    <BLAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!>

They dumbed it waaaay down. Seriously silly. Stupid at times. Some of the scene transitions were terrible (poor editing). Some of the jokes were forced. Ending weak.

On the other hand, the f/x was good, some of the cinematography was terrific, there were a lot of funny moments and lines, and the near ending was very enjoyable. Fantastic bass as usual.

There were huge applauses at the end. This is a popcorn flick that's fun at times but mostly not a memorable flick. I won't be in any rush for the Blu-ray.

I enjoyed it not as much as the first one. fans of Transformers who read the comics obviously have a different expectations for the movie. The ending I felt was dragged out, and it could have been better. My girlfriend didn't like it I thought it was worth watching but nothing spectacular.

I enjoyed it as much as the first one. I can't see why anyone could "hate" this movie! It's a ****-load of action, a couple heart-wrenching scenes, and plenty of funny sections.

I think some people are being way too critical.

probably going to check it out tomorrow, i loved the first one. the way i see it, is a movie is just for entertainment, if i'm entertained for the time i watch it, great, if not, then i won't watch it all, but i think over the past 5 years, there's only been a couple movies that i haven't finished watching. so i guess you could say im easily entertained.
