You guys are really taking this to a new level.New members come and go.I think everyones on edge around here due to the many noobs that ask the same questions over and over.As troubling as it may be,this is still an audio forum, and the ignore feature is up there for a reason. No need to pound him into the ground.God knows,I love a good pounding myself every once in a while but give it a rest allready, the amusement factor has worn off along time ago.

You know what? I met this cat and sold him a pair of my Polk's. I didn't have time to hang with him very long but the time I had to spend with him was a pleasure. He may not have the best of internet communication, he may not have the best language, he may not have that personality that you folks just melt for. He is however, a human being and a nice one in person.

Try next time [moderators and forum members] informing him that cursing isn't allowed and that if something bugs you, send him a friendly PM informing him of your displeasure.

Lately I have seen senior members and newbies alike getting all over certain people new and old] and honestly, it's a real turnoff. Some of it happens for really stupid reasons but there does seem to be some fun in joining the bandwagon and being just like CL35. You know, "it keeps going and going and going and going........". Geez, sometimes I think you folks actually MISS that jackass. It seems that you have to have someone to pick on.

Last time I checked we were all past the third grade. Grow up.

I guess i opened a can of worms a few days ago. I was actually banned for using profanity. I mean I see other people use profanity on here, but i get banned because im am a, qutote.... noob. I didnt even get a warning. They just banned me for 7 days. +No one said "hey you need to take that down." They just went straight for the big guns and gave me a 7 day ban. Everywhere you go, noobs get pushed around by the insecure older people. the older people act like its their territory and that the noob is somehow transgressing just by being thereor by responding to at thread. They act like the noobs have entered some sort of territorial pissing ground. i mean whats up with that? Reminds me of military school. me and my classmates got hazed when we were freshmen. our senior year, my friends hazed all of the new kids, because it was a tradition. i never participated because i remember how bad i hated it when i was in their shoes. whats up with people now days?

    haha

Next time maybe. -Chef Luis Pernia

F1- what I got from that post, is that Aldous had a sense of humor just like some of the senior members here. If we can talk about hiding outside polk HQ in the bushes waiting to jump out... and yet not have a police restraining order placed on us, why couldn't Aldous joke about punching someone in the face.

I was going to bring up earlier that there were members who had met this newbie in person, and maybe they could comment on his behavior... but the thread got out of hand and I decided to leave it alone.

Look, I don't care one way or another what you guys think of him. If he's an **** to you, so be it. Who am I to make you think otherwise? I will admit, he's not the best of internet first impressions and for all I know he may not be cut out for internet discussions in a normal manner. I don't know.

All I know is that those folks who were there in the room when he said something about punching someone in the face.............if you weren't there, you wouldn't understand. It has everything to do with "**** talking" and BS'n with the guys. Just like we all talk about pies, one's loved one's with other folks [you know who you are] underoos and assless chaps. There's no difference. In this case, most if not all didn't have a clue as to why that was even relayed. All was well the entire time, a lot of fun was had and yes, some mischievous and fun activities took place. Not unlike any other audio event or Polkfest I have attended, organized or heard about.

All I'm saying is that he may not have the most gracious of internet decorum, etiquette or grace but he is a human being. He's also interested [I don't know about here anymore] about getting his learn on with the rig he's building. I talked to him for hours and all he had was question after question about getting his learn on.

Hate me, love, tell me to **** off. I don't care. I just think this thread was a little ridiculous on all parties parts, including the OP's and it's a pity that it is actually on this forum. All of us are better than this. That's all. Rant off.

    Here's your horse back.........

LOL! That's awesome...Reminds me of one of my cats. When she was still a kitten she used to love riding around in the back of an R/C Monster Truck I used to have...it was so ridiculously cute seeing her riding around in it...just thinking about it brings a smile to my face.:D

Thanks George. All in all Luis was a nice guy. The punch in the face thing got taken out of context and blown out of proportion. Yes, a polite PM to Luis explaining rules and regs of posting would have been a better choice.
Hopefully he's learned his lesson and will play nice from here on out. If he wants to hang around and pick up some great info from the seniors, let him do so. If he want's to continue being a horses patoot, can him. It's up to him and not up to us to decide what he wants from this forum in the future. Stop the "noob" bashing and let him decide his own fate here.

The only problems I have with Aldous_Huxley is he broke nearly every rule in one post. He made it sound like it was a wild out of control happening here. A voice never even was raised. Nobody was in anyones face. It was a bad representation of the members there. When it was time for him to leave we offered for him to stay, but he was already running late. Even if he were a senior member with a post like that would not have gone over well.

haha, this is funny. That was almost 40 years ago. They just did covers of stuff from back then, iirc. What would be classic rock now. Doors, Creedence maybe.

I guess with a zillion bands on myspace, it's inevitable the name would get recycled.
