Oh JHC! This is a PUBLIC forum, NOT your neighborhood bar. It has nothing to do with anyones age and EVERYTHING to do with COMMON SENSE!

You obviously didn't use any, so it got taught to you with a 7 day ban. Don't like it? Feel free to leave & don't let the door hit you on the way OUT!

I too am a newb here, but I fail to see how your return from a seven day ban is helping the group/community. As with all groups, if you are fortunate enough to be a part of something remember that it is bigger than just you, and your presence in it should enhance and improve the group's function rather than focus on you.

Hey, Huxley,,, I read your post's regarding Ben's small GTG and gear pickup. Ben was nice enough to allow us to use his home as a meeting point to pick up gear that I had picked up for another polkie,Tom and Lightman were bringing my pair of SDA's from Raleigh. You had not arrived by the time I left, and when I read your post,I must say that I don't think that Ben,or any of us for that matter, want to have mini fest's portrayed/associated with alcohol, guns and threats/implications of physical violence. What you described and I what I experienced were two very different situations. It's fine to have a good time, drink to brewskies, and horse around. I try to live by the motto, that what happens at ______(fill in the blank) stays there.Anyway, welcome to Club Polk, get your learn on,make some friends,, and pick up on the knowlwdge and experience that abounds here. If you do,you'll end up with a very good rig,if thats what you are looking for,I know I am.Chill out,and have some fun.:)

Have you considered accepting "personal responsibility?" It's like being pissed off because you got a speeding ticket.

You screwed up, and got booted for a week--move on with your life. People who talk **** right out of the gate, tend to have some unwelcomed attention--both in everyday life and internet forums.

I guess i opened a can of worms a few days ago. I was actually banned for using profanity. I mean I see other people use profanity on here, but i get banned because im am a, qutote.... noob. I didnt even get a warning. They just banned me for 7 days. +No one said "hey you need to take that down." They just went straight for the big guns and gave me a 7 day ban. Everywhere you go, noobs get pushed around by the insecure older people. the older people act like its their territory and that the noob is somehow transgressing just by being thereor by responding to at thread. They act like the noobs have entered some sort of territorial pissing ground. i mean whats up with that? Reminds me of military school. me and my classmates got hazed when we were freshmen. our senior year, my friends hazed all of the new kids, because it was a tradition. i never participated because i remember how bad i hated it when i was in their shoes. whats up with people now days?

Wow you are really a valued member of this club and I can understand your outrage. I've really learned a lot from you and look forward to more of your wisdom. Is there anyway to get banned for 10 days for using bad language? I'm sure you'll be able to help me with this dilemma.

By the way you sure know how to show class by welcoming yourself back from a banning.;) I really like your lesson on how to win the friendship of "insecure older people." I'll have to remember that when the "personal responsibility" class you are giving soon takes shape.

I bow down to thee Oh classy guy!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I figure Rooster gave the Hux his laptop and his lines along with a seven day sabatical away from the Maytag box in exchange for the unanimous feeding, nobody can intentionally be this unaccountable.

i say if he appologizes for not appologizing when he came back and promises to refrain from typing anything without first clearing it with his mommy to ensure he is playing nice that maybe we can give him a break, starting with his fingers....

Maybe I am missing something, but why is another pretty much n00b jumping all over that poor chef? It's just way too funny, when someone new jumps on the band wagon and starts harassing another person for being a newbie, when he joined at the same time as the other guy.

I don't know, I saw some of that guys posts, and I'm pretty sure the reason he got jumped on and banned wasn't because he was a noob (or a lot of us would be banned). It looked to me like he got banned for shooting off his mouth, having no common sense, acting way too chummy with people he didn't really know, and just generally being a weirdo. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong- but you don't have to be a guru to get down on that kind of behavior...

does this mean you are leaving us Aldous???
no pithy comments before your exit?

I do not endorse or condone that Aldous behaviour. What I don't understand is why another n00b is jumping all over him. Did this guy do something special or does he have a special right to come to the forum and think that he is better than other noobs just because he has been here for a couple of months and did not get banned? Please explain.
I was reading the 1st page of this thread and the nooshnjohn was all over the Aldous guy.

Like I said- I may be wrong about why he got banned, but the point I was trying to make was that level of 'noobness' has nothing to do with it- so it's not about one noob pounding on another or anything. That Aldous guy was clearly acting in a way that just rubbed members the wrong way. It was his behavior, not the fact that he was a noob that did it, so I don't think new members have any less right to comment on it than anyone else does.
