Here's one for you. Kung Pao, Enter the Fist. I used to think this was hilarious and the most seriously underrated comedy ever. I used to smoke ALOT of pot. I rewatched now that I am clean and sober (damn random drug tests) and it was really, really stupid. Have to be in the right frame of mind I guess...............

Beerfest is another one for me. I too have watched that movie way too manby times. I think I'll watch it tonight. :)

I've watched Kung Pow sober, it's still hilarious. In the stupidest way imaginable, and you DEFINITELY have to watch it with a crowd (like most stupid comedies).

    Freebie and the Bean.

I have some really interesting memories of this film...time...place...circumstances...etc.

Better left to my own imagination.

But I think it definitely falls in this category.

Hell yeah, never got tired of that one. In the game God of War 2, there is a Perseus character and they hired the actor who played Perseus in Clash to do the voice over.

    And Andromeda was Hottttt!

Considering Lucas' track record it's almost more likely to make it a BAD film. At best that guy is 50/50

A whole genre - '70s kung-fu movies from Hong Kong.

My uncle directed a bunch of these at Shaw Brothers Studios. He takes them so seriously.

I rented Starship Troopers II and III from NetFlix. Should be here today. Bought a case of generic beer from the PX and a 3 pound sack of artificially flavored Jalapeno chips. Got the trailer house to myself while the misses is at the laundry-O-mat. Settlin' in for a good time tonight. Yessir.

A little late on the response, but Starship Troopers II was the biggest rip off of a movie title ever made. Where the hell were the bugs? I actually bought it way back when (I think it was under $10) and couldn't believe that they actually called it starship troopers.

I hope you weren't to disapointed Igo after getting excited for a sci-fi movie night. That movie would have made me drink that entire case.

I didn't even know they made a III. Was it worth watching?

Sorry, should have been clearer. Upon release in 1979. American Artist's, whom the film was released through, felt U.S. filmgoer's might have a hard time understanding the original Austrailan dialogue. They hired actor's and dubbed over all the actor's in the movie, including Mel Gibson. I have the latest release on Dvd, which offer's both the Austrailian and "Dubbed" version's.

    Ahhh, I see.

Kinda like when you watch some shows on BBC America, and they have a funny disclaimer that American audiences may not be able to understand the British accents, and thus there are subtitles.

The first Starship Troopers wasn't what I would call mindless drivel. It was "over the top", "campy", even paying homage to earlier sci-fi classics. Verhoeven did a good job of staying close to the book...but then again...Heinlein wrote the book for a juvenile/teenage Sci-Fi audience. It is a true "cult classic" and is definitely fits the category for this tread...but it was not mindless drivel IMO. II & III I can't speak to as I have never seen them.
