So here is how it went.

I cleaned out my Mr Coffee and washed the filter holder and everything. I did the vinegar thing , washed out the pot. Complete detail of the Coffee pot.

So now with my nice and clean coffee maker, I wanted a brew a pot. So I put the filter in and thinking it didn't fit right but I just switched to a different brand so I didn't think anymore of it. I sat down in the Dinning room with my laptop waiting on a fresh cup. So I hear wierd noises coming from my coffee maker. I went into the kitchen to check on it and coffee was running down the side of my cabinets and underneath the Stove. **** man, I turned off the maker and thought I must have cracked the pot when I was washing it, but there was no coffee inside of it,I looked in the draining board and there it was , the damn filter holder. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Damn it I wasted a pot, and made a mess. So I cleaned everything up and installed the filter holder and finally after all that got my cup.

Hours later I go down the basement to play alittle guitar. I look over at the Imac only to find the wireless keyboard floating in black liquid which was coffee that got down into the basement from the gas line hole to the stove and leaked all that coffee right on the keyboard. I was pissed off:mad::eek::mad:. So I tried to dry it off, wash it off and get it working. All the keys worked except the A and S keys. I pulled them out, blew compressed air in there and nothing, they where finished. That really sucks. I went to Best buy as it's closer then the Apple Store to pick up a new Apple Wireless keyboard. Now 80+ bucks later I have a new the same keyboard. I sideways grade for no other reason other then I killed the orignal one.

Ahh well , I'll never do that again. I feel like a Idiot.

Dan:(

Let me tell ya it was a rough ride home (10 miles)
Now I'm down to one vehicle tween me and the wife till income tax time.

So I know how ya feel....mine is gonna be a bit more expensive tho! LOL

Now that is one expensive cup of coffee. Ever hear of coffee that costs anywhere from $50.00-$100.00 a cup? Believe it or not an animal eats the coffee beans then craps them out. Then a person picks out the undigested beans out of the animals ****. They wash them then make you a cup of coffee. All I can say is.......HOLY SHIOT!!!

With my income I never have anything newer than 10yrs old.
If I had to pay $300 a month for a vehicle I'd never have any hobbies to break up the hohum everyday thing.
I have too many other bills also. :(

My 92 Exploder don't owe me a thing....I spent $300 on it in the past 3yrs.
    It's a shame tho....it's only got 91k actual miles on it. :(

I haven't done that since I started using a french press. On the other hand, I discovered french presses are a little sensitive to being dropped on tile floors.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Sorry to hear your accident, Dan. Look it this way: you're helping the economy by replenishing your apple keyboard's inventory. Ebay the old keyboard, someone somewhere has a need for the keys.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Mantis, that sounds like my day everyday-always some little thing slowing me down, breaking something, costing me money-frustrating to say the least.

Here's one example. So one day, in a rare insane moment, I decided to help out with the laundry. I did it all right, but I left the detergent on top of the front loader washing machine. From the other room, during the spin cycle, I hear a loud bang. I said aw crap what now?
I found the detergent had vibrated off the washer and crashed onto floor, carcking and spilling its contents. The thick liquid worked its way to every nook and cranny in the floor that it could find, leaking into the heater closet in the basement. It ran across ductwork and piping, all over stuff stored down there, and all over the heater combustion chanber, etc, etc, etc.
Ya wanna know something, that extra concentrated detergent is no joke. It leaves stains on concrete and dries quite messy. I still haven't been able to get it all. Oh and in the nooks and crannies in laundry it still seems to ooze out every once in a while in the corners, and its like fly paper. Every little bit of dirt is attracted to it liek a magnet.

    Mantis,

This is the only way to go, No more Vinegar!, No More Cleaning!, Excellent Cup after Cup of Coffee. I cannot live without my machine

If espresso isn't grinding, spooning, tamping down and all the old fashioned stuff, it ain't espresso! It's part of the morning wake up "ceremony": the smell of the grounds from the grinder etc. The pods do a good job taste wise, but I'm conservative with coffee and like to make it the old way (and it's cheaper than buying pods)!

As for the vinegar/cleaning thing. I'm using a Brita filter jug for all the water I use in my coffee machines (until I install a permanent, fixed system), and have never had to clean a coffee machine ever since (several years now). There are even coffee machines out there with custom made Brita filters built in (they're smaller than the jug format filter).

My coffee maker has a filter that goes in to purify the water but I don't use it anymore I use a brita to filter my water before I put it in. I still like to clean the machine out once a month or so. Sometimes I get a bitter burned flavor and thats when I decide to clean it out.
