1C's are the way to go. 1B's will get you close. 1A's are really not worth it IMO. Get ready to wait being here in the Midwest like me. SDA's are scarce here, but they do come up FS once in awhile.

I sort of fell into my 1C's at our local Polk Fest in Bloomington, IL and another local Polkie had truck at the fest so I bought them and we brought them back to Rockford. I used to sell SDA's and I couldn't afford them then (just a poor college student) now I have a pair of 1C's with full x-over upgrade (Sonicaps) and RD0's. They won't be going anywhere!

I'd say look for a pair of 1C's in the $400-600 range as a good deal. $700 if mint is still a pretty good deal. With the economy the way it is; it's a buyers market. Shipping is risky but if done properly and one is willing to pay extra to have it done correctly it can be done.

Thanks for the advice. I figured I'd probably be better off with the 1C's. I'm gonna have to start looking around for some of them. I've already kinda been keeping my eye out for them. I've gotta decide what I want first though...some SDA's or my RTi A setup for my home theater. Can't get both at the same time unfortunately.

After hearing those SDA's the other day though it kinda makes me lean in that direction a little bit more...

    Tina-

Where are you? I'll build you a set of empty cabinets for the cost of materials and a couple bucks for my time. I'm getting a killer table saw today and would love an excuse to break it in.

You guys keep baiting/trolling. It's kinda boring.
    Yawn.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Unfortunately no I am not. I spend a lot of time helping newbies on this forum and helping friends. Lots of time on the phone, and via emails. I don't get paid for being here. I just love the hobby, I like meeting new people, and I enjoy helping out:(

Ben, you're a great source for practical experience, your advice and opinions are well respected and appreciated. My 7B's sound amazing after my crossover upgrade, I won't mention the brand name of the caps though. Many thanks

Ben, Ben! You are one of the most knowledgeable people that I have found on any forum concerning Polk! You have been a great help to me with emails, and phone calls. You don't talk down to the newbies when we have inexperineced questions, and you don't lord over us with your knowledge of the product. You are a great guy and thank you for all the help that you have given to me.

That's funny right there. A couple guys come in and say thanks after seeing me getting dogged for no real reason, and you feel the need to insult me even more. All I have to say is wow. Really man you just leave me shaking my head.

Actually F1nut, and DK have been my mentors. If it weren't for them putting up with all sorts of questions early on I would be much further behind.

    Candies, Kids?

Let's not hurt each other, shall we? ;)

    To Everyone,

I don't know why you guys (including myself) even still posting in this thread but it's fun to read. And this is getting totally unrelated to the thread title? Perhaps, we should have this thread moved to the Club Polk Category?

    To Ben

I recall you welcome me when I was a newbie here. I am still a newbie here, I think. Well, it doesn't matter. I don't recall I piss you off for any reason? :D

I certainly don't remember any help attained from you yet. So, it looks like you owe me one for the future?

Why don't you just follow a Sears delivery truck around and collect two large refrigerator boxes. Bring them home, paste some grill cloths on the front and paint the sides.
Then put some Bose speakers inside that you bought from the white van.
