The guy was over the top quite obviously and definetly in the wrong, but, and its a big but, think he ever would of done that under the Hussein Regime!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course it is not likely our Pres. and Hussein would of ever gotten together for a release.

He should get some punishment but not be shot, hands chopped off, family murdered, tongue cut off, and so on.

Long live freedom. Nice moves and good focus by the President.

I can't believe the guy was able to throw the second shoe. Where the hell was his detail, sleeping? I'm sure the reporter got his **** handed to him after that...

I was thinking the same thing, but after watching the video, there was about 2 seconds between him throwing both shoes and he was taken down immediately after that. I dont know if you can ask for much better than that.

Funny thing is the day before, he was speaking at my fiancee's graduation ceremony.

Doesn't matter, as soon as that dude stood up and attempted to throw the first one, the detail should of been on him like flys on ****. Hell, the detail didnt even attempt to cover him. All I seen was the Iraqi detail, no where did I see the SS.

Imagine if it was a gun, he would of been finished. This is why as part of a protective detail, you need to be paying attention. BTW, this is currently my job as we speak. I just do mostly the K9 stuff.

I'm not going to sit here and critique what was done, it's over with as I wasn't in that position at the time. Nevermind...

Like I said earlier.....don't condone any harm to the guy, but I have zero respect for him for a myriad of reasons, none of which we'll get into.........agree to disagree and so forth, but it IS a funny clip to see the president (regardless of party) have to duck.......twice......from flying footwear.......

Anyone who was halfway intelligent would have had both shoes removed before the first was thrown so you wouldn't have to bend over and take the other off..........(not that I've thought about it much....lol)

Actually that guy is a big hero in the Arab world now. According to his associate he'd been talking/planning something against Bush or whoever showed up for over a year.

Otoh, for a Lame Duck, that looked pretty healthy to me.;)

The man obviously did not feel bound by the constraints a U.S. citizen might feel encumbered by.

The man threw his shoes at a sitting U.S. president. Sue me because I laugh my nuts off every time I think about it.

I really feel sorry for the guy:rolleyes:

Funny thing is, he'll be tried under a democracy and get less than 2 years, if that...as opposed to getting his feet cut off so he doesnt have shoes if this would have happened 10 years ago.

    Aha....Bush Knows Karate! :D

And we should invite the shoe throwing Iraqi guy to the Guantanamo Bay for some white meat sandwich. You know what I am talking about if you've watched Harold and Kumar.

You reckon the guy got his shoes back? He's probably sitting in his cell going "damn, why'd I have to go and use the Italian loafers!"

I bet you guys 'n' gals never expected to see this story come back to life, but here it is:
The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at former US President George W Bush has found himself on the receiving end of a shoe-throwing attack.

    The full story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8389764.stm

Why do all these Arabs on the news throw punches? They aren't even good punches. They have horrible technique, terrible form and they just flail about, screaming obscenities in broken English. It's not really just Arabs either. It's pretty much everyone from the Middle East and even places like Lebanon, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and so on. Everytime I see a scuffle on the news from one of those parts of the world, the "fights" are what was deemed a "sissy fight" when I was growing up. "Sissy fight" not being a connotation of sexual orientation but rather commentary on the lack of effectiveness in the fight and the guise that the fight was just a bunch of posturing with no real malicious intent in mind but rather to just "save face".

A friend of mine once quipped that living in an area where these scuffles break out all the time would be tantamount to living in a perpetual cage fighting event. But I just don't see it. I guess it would be if you liked watching that sort of thing.

But to illustrate what I'm talking about, watch any one of the myriad of videos from the Middle East where guys in robes are throwing ineffective haymakers or trying to kick someone with sandals on. Then find a video from Russia where someone is filming Russian cops beating someone or footage from a rave in Germany where a fight breaks out.

I'm going to start campaigning for better fight footage. In fact, if footage is taken and it's just a horrible fight, I'm going to put forth the idea that the fight should be started over and done properly.
