Can you guys confirm that I have nothing to worry about bidding on this listing. I'm kinda nervous purchasing something on ebay. What questions should I ask the seller?

I wouldn't take a chance on an item in that price range, but perhaps you have the deep pockets to do it. You have to look at it this way -- if something goes awry, can you walk away and not miss the money?
If you're willing to spend $1,200 or more on a sub, I'd buy one direct from the manufacturer or from a trusted source, regardless of the seller's feedback score.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

and from the looks of it would you even know the sub was in the box. i agree with early b, buy directSpeakers:
Definitive BP7001sc mains
Definitive C/L/R 3000 center
Polk RT800i's rears
Definitive supercube I Sub

That's what my gut is telling me. . . .that sucks. -
I don't like this particular statement in that listing: "Please do not ask if you're able to drop by to look at the unit. I do not want foot traffic". That sounds a bit fishy ... otherwise I would have offered to do just that, and check it out for you.

Let me talk to my wife about it, she can check it out. She is a regular on Ebay.
I'll get back to yeah ASAP.Dan

Am I understanding this correctly, but when you click on the bid history it also seems that the sole starting bid at $1,200 has been retracted?

Hey man my wife just checked the dude out. He sells Audio video gear al the time with 100% feedback. Sounds and looks pretty good. Many people have purchased from him with good results.
I'd say drop him a line and talk about it. It's a good deal for an even better sub. I love it.

I actually bought my NAD receiver on e-Bay, but the seller checked out as an authorized NAD dealer, so I got full warranty. It was $400 plus stinkin' sales effin' tax! (Sorry about the anger management issue.)
When I went to pick it up, there was no apparent reason why that seller would not "want any foot traffic". I'm not sure about your guy and why he doesn't want to deal with it. The box does look a bit banged up, and he only took one picture ...Alea jacta est! -

I'd ask if its NIB and factory sealed or just NIB-WAS IT EVER OPENED.
I hate when seller's put a 15% restocking fee. WTF-they're not a retail outfit-15%? That right there cause me concern. But if you get the seller's word that if it is not factory sealed and NIB that they issue a full 100% refund.
You won't get a warranty with it.
The only other thing I'd be concerned about is $170 for shipping-- is that right? If it is, its unlikley that will be refunded if the product is not as described (unless you file a dispute via PP)
As far as the foor traffic thing, I think some buyers may have tried that but it got annoying or something especially when you start making a living on eBay. Some buyers use the same template for all there auctions. Can't hurt to ask the guy if you can see it in person-if you jump on it-it will certainly save you shipping.____________________

...you could send an e-mail to the guy that bought the other one and ask him about his experience. That's probably what i would do if i wanted to risk the $1,200.

I buy and sell quite a bit on e-bay. He has sold two previous ones with positive feedback and seemingly no problems. All of his previous descriptions say the same thing about not wanting foot traffic. If you can save a decent amount of money, I think it's a pretty safe deal.

No I'm budgeting to buy two subs. I can't afford two Depth i subs but I can afford two Grotto i subs which should do the trick. Or, I'm looking into a pair of REL R205 subs.
