rabies, I think you're a tad underpowered and undersubbed for this movie. You should consider upgrading :D:p

On my modest system the bass seems too boosted in some scenes. Other than that i'm lovin the sound.2 Mirage OMD-5's (burled Maple)

I have not noticed any particular problems, except for my subwoofer. The movie sounds perfectly normal to me in general, with some nice effects, but the scene where he blasts off for the first time, after escaping from the cave, sent my new Rythmik F12G into cardiac arrest. Well, I exaggerate perhaps, but I heard a rattling noise which I presumed to be ... well ... something rattling. When I approached the subwoofer, I realized that the sub itself was making the noise, not some derelict CD case on a nearby table. The driver may have been "knocking" in there or something.
I just assumed I had the subwoofer tuned in wrong, which is probably true, but everything else sounded normal to me, although I do listen at, or close to reference levels.
Only one other movie has produced this effect: Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith, during the opening scene where a large space cruiser of some description rumbles ominously accross the screen. I guess I'll just have to contact c/s again and figure out what is wrong with my settings.Alea jacta est! -

Call Brian...maybe changing the SS filter on the amp to 20hz with a different damping setting will handle this.

I'll see if I can sort it out and report back, but it'll be a while before I can get time to mess about with it again.
Now, on the topic of movies with good effects, I loved the start of Ratatouille, with the breaking glass, gunshots, lightning strike, the shot that hits the metal spatula, the swirling water in the tunnel ... Those were tremendously huge, and not just deep bass, in the case of the breaking glass and the "ping" of the shot on the spatula ... several of those moments where you just resettle yourself in your seat and think "wow! this is just stunning sound!". I didn't really get any of those moments to the same extent with IM.Alea jacta est! -

What about in Ratatouille, when the truck goes over his head in the city? We originally saw it in a theater (altho granted not a very hi-tech theater), and I remember thinking that "that should have more rumble". If we ever get our new house built , I'm going to rent that movie and see what happens with my sonosub."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."
