Hi All,

I have a pair of RT2000i speakers. I have blown the mid-range speaker and I'm in the process of organizing a replacement. I would like to know if I was to replace the speaker myself would there be anything extra I would have to do...... or should I just send it to the repair center? I would like to do it myself as its only a speaker replacement but I'm just worried there's extra work involved and I don't wanna damage a brand new driver.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

I would expect it's fairly simple, but I don't know enough about it to be sure you have not damaged something else ... Hang around for a bit and you'll probably get an answer from C/S directly.

P.S., no more posts from you until 2010, or you'll mess up your average posting rate!

Its easy. All you need is a allen wrench to take off the deflector plate. Then remove the speaker and replace with a new one.

Shouldn't take more than 5 mins tops.

    Thanks for your replies guys.

I have removed the front plate but the speaker seems to be stuck. Do you know how to get it out??

A small flathead screw driver will work.

Just wedge the screw driver between the back of the speaker and the speaker cabinets. The speaker should pretty much fall out. Then disconnect the two wires and install the new speaker.

There not hard to get out. There barely stuck in there.

A butter knife would work also if your in a pinch.
