My 44 is not your typical pistol. I can hit a Pie Plate 8 out of 10 times at 100 yards free standing;) Less than 20 yards bub bye:)
    BTW my 10-22 was stolen:mad:

I have had 5 different 44 mag revolvers ( Not including my 44 mag T/C barrel ) and my favorite one is my 9 1/2 " Ruger Super Redhawk ( Close second was my 10 1/2" Super Blackhawk I used to use for metallic silhouette ...shot a LOT of those metallic chickens :) ) ....that one stays for good. Pie plates at 100 yards is a job for those little S&W 29's....our ruger scoped using a rest will do 1" groups at a 100 easily. If I cook up some handloads with my match powder measure even better.....awesome peashooter you have there :D

Do you have dogs Ben? If so, they might need a little training to behave around the newest members of the family. My uncle has chickens, and when his dog was a puppy it got one of the chickens. He secured the dead chicken around the dogs neck and left it there for a week. The dog never touched the chickens again.

They are nice. Very nice. Those 44's have some serious reach out and touch ability. I actually rarely use the scope. Open sights with a long sight plane is just fine for something as small as a squirrel to 20 yards. Mine has had some trigger work done to it. It has a very light smooth pull. The guy who had it before me must have been into target shooting heavily. Gallon jugs, and 2 liter bottles filled with water are fun at 100. There is no guessing if you hit one;)
Don't let anyone see Ya pop a hawk. you will not like the fine, I promise you. Same goes for owls which are an even bigger problem with chickens.
IIRC shooting these in CT was a felony?

Up here there are big fines for killing Hawks and Owls and ....ummm dump ducks also known as seagulls. As Dave Winfeild found out the hard way when he was arrested for killing one with a baseball.
