It looks freaking awesome. I have the 1st one and was a little let down on it. Heres to hoping the 2nd one is insane. I wish they would do Soldier of Fortune also. Both are great games.

Umm, that's not Far Cry 2, haha. That's the second demo for the first Far Cry. It was posted in 2004. Haha, I just noticed that!

I did a few more missions tonight. It is starting to remind me a bit like GTA. Not a bad thing in any way, just the reminder of missions that you have to do, and the reputation you have to hold. It decreases or increases with missions you do.

Graphically I think it is PAR, nothing special. Weapons are pretty cool, but generic. One cool weapon I did pick up was a grenade launcher with a scope on it. That was fun!!

FEAR is going to be excellent. I cannot wait for the next chapter. That game was so creepy, yet the gameplay was so fun that it kept you going.

BTW- I got Gears of War 2 today. But there is no way I will put that in my 360 until the weekend before release.

I'm about 12% through the single player so far, and I'm loving it! The vehicles drive well, the weapons feel appropriately menacing, and the malaria thing isn't as annoying as I feared it would be. I was afraid that all the driving between missions would get old, but there's so much chance of random encounters that it keeps things interesting. The weapon upgrade system reminds me of role-playing games where you level equipment up, and it makes you really want to hunt for diamonds so you can max out your weapons' stats. Speaking of the diamonds... finding the briefcases that are strewn about in the world is as addictive as finding the orbs in Crackdown. Every time I see that light flicker on my GPS, I find myself roaming about to find the briefcase nearby. Big thumbs up for the single player.

The multiplayer is serviceable, but feels really slow compared to CoD4 or other recent shooters. There's a nice amount of customization with character loadouts and the various classes lend themselves nicely to team play. All in all, the multiplayer is good but not great, though the map editor will definitely keep me playing. The map editor's a bit daunting because there's so much you can do with it, but once I get some more time with it, I'm looking forward to making some good maps to post to the server. I tried a few of the high rated maps tonight, and they were surprisingly decent considering this is everyone's first day of tinkering with it. Mad props to Ubisoft for putting a map editor this full-featured into their game.

Running on my 100" screen from my 1080p Sanyo Z2000, the graphics are out-freakin'-standing. At first, it seems kinda' bland because of the art style and color palette, but the more you play the game, the more you notice the insane amount of stuff they're drawing on screen. The draw distance is unbelievable and even in multiplayer, I could spot someone way the hell across the map.

Overall, I'm digging the hell out of it. It's an impressive game, despite a few minor flaws. Definitely worth your $60.

UPS just dropped it off. It's nice to have it sitting here on my desk, but it would be nicer to play it. My hand/arm is tweaked, and I don't have any speakers hooked up to my PC so I am not even going to bother installing it. I had it pre ordered a while ago, or I wouldn't even have bothered with it.

I can't get over how pretty the graphics are. Problem is I usually game at night, but my eyes are too tired to really appreciate what might be the best aspect of the game.

I just got done playing a round. This is the first game that truly appreciates having the res at 1280x1024. I can play it at that res pretty much maxed in everything with no stutters, and the 4 cores average about 50% peaking at a little over 60%. The tutorial I thought was part of the game. It drags out at first, but after you get the hang of it it does grow on you:)

Lots of really bad reviews on Amazon, and I tend to agree with some of them. It was worth the $20 that I paid, but I'm glad I didn't pay $50 for it

I thing I hate is too many missions on the same stinken map. No zoom on scope or even a pair of Binoc's:confused: I still get sucked into it pretty good, but the game play on the first was better.

Edit: Neweggs reviews were not so hot either. This is the Bose of games. OK not that bad:)

So just a mild review Ben? I saw the Amazon price of $18 and almost bought it except for the poor reviews. But since I loved the first one, can the second one really be that bad?

the last PC game I purchased was Half Life 2. I enjoyed it, but preferred Far Cry by a wide margin. Unfortunately, those games were at the edge for my PC and I stopped gaming (still using the same rig).

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
