If watching those videos doesn't get you excited for this game, nothing will. CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT. I pre-ordered at Gamestop to get the collector's edition, since you get it for the same price as the regular edition for doing so. Between this, Gears of War 2, CoD: World At War, etc., it's going to be a crowded release calendar.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

Both Farcry & Crysis had great graphics, BUT, I could only get to the 1/2way point, then I couldn't go any further!:(

Does anybody think this will be a better buy for Xbox/PS3 or the PC? I could save a few coins and pick up a PS3 and play this, or just finish building a new PC too. The HT would be kickass to play on though, hmm... decisions decisions... and I am running out of time!!!

I'm buying it for the 360. PC's great, but for online play with friends, the 360's my weapon of choice. And from the videos they've shown, the differences in graphics seem very minor.

Besides... For me, it's either play it on a 24" LCD on the PC... or a 100" screen with 1080p projector and 7.1 surround on the 360. Not a hard choice, really. :D

Yeah... but my PC is in my bedroom. Wiring that sucker up to the projector and receiver would take some work. And I'd need a wireless keyboard and mouse, since I'd be so far away from it.

So yeah, 360 for me. :D

Dude the first one sucked me in like a black hole! I could not leave it. To me it was the best game to step into an era of semi open maps, and strategy/FPS. Loved it! FEAR, and DOOM3 were the first ones to really scare me!

I never beat the first one because I would always get lost. That freakin' island was too hard to navigate sometimes. Far Cry 2 looks to fix that with its innovative map and road sign system.

And 50+ hours of open world gameplay in a first-person shooter? YES, PLEASE! Plus, I had a blast with Far Cry Instincts' map editor on the 360. My friends and I made some great maps and had a lot of fun playing on them. The new map editor looks to be a major time-suck for me.

Wow, I sure HOPE that'll do it justice on AT LEAST SOME settings...since it'll wipe the floor with my desktop. :(

I'm still wanting to upgrade to an 8800GTS (linky) and 4GB RAM (linky). I should be able to handle a good bit then, I hope. :D

I've never played Far Cry before, but just ran across this on NewEgg: Far Cry Jc (linky). Is that the same thing? Is that the first Far Cry? I think it'd be worth getting and playing through before getting into Far Cry 2.

The question to ask...will FarCry2 for PS3 support keyboard and mouse like Unreal Tournament 3 does? If it does, I might pick it for PS3, if not, there is no question about it: PC. That, or buy also that FragFX controller.

You'd have to be a **** to play FPS games with a console controller.

Yes it is. The graphics are pretty good, and the game play is awesome. You can play that version on most decent PC's:)

    Have you seen F.E.A.R. 2?

I have and have played (actually played it earlier today) the FEAR demo. The demo is really freaky and scary, but pretty dadburn awesome. So I can only imagine how intense and amazing the full game is. I'd really like to buy it. However, I did just notice on NewEgg while ago that they no longer sell the original one. :( Maybe I can find it used, eh? (Anybody got a copy and wanna sell it?? :D)

Man, my list of games in my NewEgg wish list has gotten a lot larger now. :D

I sold my FEAR and FEAR Extracation point to somebody on the board... can't remember who now. Maybe they are done playing it and would sell it back to you? :) Is FEAR 2 coming out? I haven't heard anything about that! I gotta google that one up.

But FEAR was probably the best freakiest game I have ever played... gotta turn all the lights off, crank the volume, and play it at 2am! That's the way REAL men play... hehe. Kidding. I played it that way once and got too freaked out and swore to only play during the daytime. Ha.

Ubisoft put up new video of Far Cry 2 last week, and it's some of the best I've seen yet. Check it out here.

I can't wait for this game! Already told my boss that I won't be in on October 21st... or the day Gears 2 comes out. :)
