I think we need to understand what happened, and then call it. I remember the thread, and I for one sided with the original buyer from the onset. The seller posted his speakers for auction, and they were won by a party. The seller reneged, citing some reason such as a lack of traffic. Well that doesn't fly in my opinion. He had every opportunity to pull the auction, he did not. I actually think, and this is my opinion, the seller wanted more money AFTER he found out he could get more.

Then he tried to justify his actions here. Bad idea, and he got it both barrels. So be it. If you mess with the hornets' nest, you are GOING to get stung.

OK, he apologized. Apology accepted. I think the kid should get his speakers for the price he won them. But that's my opinion.

As far as the wolf pack, yeah we get a little harsh. I guess it comes with the feeling of family we've created. In the same respect we probably would have transported them for him (the seller) had this deal went as it should. Or helped him to figure out how, at the very least. It could have been as positive as much as it was negative.

As far as the select group bullsh!t, it's just that. You might see some folks more, that's because they contribute more. Some skins need to be thicker. And to those who do care, the realization this is an internet board needs to recognized. I do not fall into that camp.

    That's my 2 cents...

I started on this forum not too long ago. Now, I really do consider many of the people here audio friends. All their crazy **** didn't scare me away. In fact, I screwed up once where I didn't think anyone would notice . . . but someone did and he corrected me. Problem solved. My attitude was immediately adjusted. That's the problem with all the other noobs in this forum who screw up. They're not willing to adjust their attitudes. In my opinion, the wolf, gang or familial mentality is a good way to weed out the scum.

"bullying" What color is the sky on your planet? Polkies looking out for Polkies is "bullying" We shouldn't watch out for other members? A well written apology letter warms you over? I have a couple questions
How long has the victim had Polk's?
Now all of a sudden he has interest in the Polk forum?

Calling someone a "****" because you don't agree with the price IS bullying.

Polkies looking out for polkies is AWESOME, but when you start harassing and name calling, you're embarassing Polk Audio and yourself.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

    Edit:
Sticking up for people trying to rip off Polkies you are embarrassing Polk Audio and yourself. Especially seeing you are a paid Polk employee. Good looking out ~J~

Here's the link. While this person may not have had the intention of staying a member, the benefit of the doubt should have been given. Right out of the gate he's asked if he's retarded instead of correcting him on the value of the speakers. It wen't down hill quickly from there as he was immediately put on the defensive. You might find reply #10 of interest.

Wouldn't it be better to try and correct his pricing? The protecing of Polkies you write of might have cost one of said Polkies the purchase of said speakers if the seller lowered the price based on helpful pricing information instead of insults.

    DEEP BREATHS...everyone....

First, our hearts are in the right place, I don't think that JB is saying otherwise. Sometimes the methodology gets out of hand, point taken.

I do agree though that the apology is VERY one sided....and we all know that there are two sides to every story.

The point being guys, and this is important, the forum as we know it is not a given. At a certain point Polk could pull the plug on us. I'm not saying 'right' or 'wrong' but it is what it is. I'd rather take a little 'shut up and color' as opposed to no forum at all.

Of course, the next time a moderator tells me to go eff myself, all bets are off. Come to think of it, where is my apology? ;)

Yes of course you find my post "useless." That's because you've been called on the carpet and you don't like it. You can try and change the angle of view, but in the end, it's still Bravo Sierra.

While I don't want to participate in the debate of who did what to whom, it should be noted that members of this Forum have sniffed out numerous eBay scams where 1.2TL's were the bait. This may not have been the case here, but it happens routinely enough that it puts many members on alert

Most of the advice here has been for other Polkies to beware. Thank you to all members who sincerely on the look out for each other. You make the Forum a good place.

Personally, I always accept an apology if it's sincere. It's time to move on.

Justin, thanks for the sticky and permitting everyone to express their opinion on this matter.

Mr. Trang, good luck on the sale of your speakers.

That, and you have a good point. Y'all chill out. I'd hate to see such a wonderful forum and company cancel what they have going for them and their customers.

He didnt deserve a normal forum response....he circumvented the rules on his very FIRST posts by posting items for sale in the WRONG area. They know its wrong because the forum will not let them post in the for sale section even when he tried...so he figured well if they wont let me post here in the correct place I will force it down their throat over here...and here. Then goes on to say a member contacted him offering 1,300....please.

As for Tring ....after what has already transpired on Ebay, unless he takes new pictures and offers them under another account those will NEVER sell on Ebay. Every SDA buying fool in the country has seen what happened and wouldnt want to get caught up in that ****.

Too bad the original winner already bought another pair ....offering them to him for the price won at is (Was) going to be his only option here in the states if he keeps his identity and original pictures.

    What do you do?

You're correct. You didn't call anyone a "****." This is what you wrote: "Someone please slap and sterilize this idiot! We don't need people like this reproducing. Thanks for the laugh buddy.
Oh yeah Welcome to Club Polk.

    "

Let me guess....You don't find anything wrong with that quote of your post?

If I had information that could protect a fellow Polkie, I'd share it. Your approach is like protecting the hen from the fox by using claymore mines when a simple fence and caging the hen at night would suffice.

So let me get this straight...

One of our members got screwed by a guy on ebay, but since he apologized its all ok? What ****. I dont venture to the home audio side a lot, but that is really just idiotic.

If you put something on ebay and it sells, no matter if you messed up or not, its not the buyers fault, its the sellers. It doesnt even matter if its this forum's so-called mob or what, its common courtesy for anyone to call out anyone who tries to screw someone else over. You think this forum is bad, check out pirate4x4.com.

And I offended anyone, I'm sorry...in fact, i might put that in my signature that way anything i do to anyone else will be okay...because i said i was sorry:rolleyes:

I think all acted as a great big protective family, and thats called watching your back

I would sure love to have that same support if I had been the victim

Too much we are asked to keep quiet..move aside....dont make waves.....keep the posts on thread.....dont be non pc.....etc...........

I would take the exact same action that I did...have at least 8 times previous due to the same type of "i can do what i please reguardless" attitude on the Bay

Reguardless of if its really him or not posting
    someone did post
we did get the word out ...due to the "mob" doing that "mob" thing

Just so I have this straight, someone listed speakers on ebay, someone won the auction, then the owner of the speakers decided not to sell them.

The person that won the auction never paid for them!?

The person selling them never shipped them!?

    Who was "hurt" by this!?

If this is correct, you are a bunch of f@cking babies.

The only thing I really have to add here is I've been a member of a corporate sponsored board like this, and after enough warnings about member behavior, the corporate management decided it was in their best interest to just shut it down.

It really doesn't matter what any of the members here think about "protecting polkies" or chasing out the riff raff, it all comes down to this board is a projection of the Polk brand. When they find the conduct here embarrassing, and they did, it's going to force them to look at how much value this board really brings to their business.

I'm starting to recognize the warning signs (too much attention from Justin), and I'd like to not see another corporate board shut down because a few not heeding the warning signs.

Exactly. No matter what is said and done, at the end of the day, Polk Audio has the final word. When you enter the forums, you're entering Polk's house and you have to conduct yourself by their rules. Justin is just giving voice to corporate. If the rules can't be followed, they can close the door on the club.
