The Bond franchise lost it's value when Roger Moore entered the picture.

I'd take a reality grounded Bond over a grossly cartoon based Bond anyday. If you like that period of Bond movies, you probably wear mittens in the summer, so you don't gouge your eyes out.

Bond jumped the shark when he ran across alligators to escape in Live and Let Die. Moonraker? Etc etc....Are you kidding me? Garbage and I'm suprised the franchise lasted this long.

DC was the best thing to happen since Connery.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I got into the Bond series BECAUSE of Roger Moore Mark. The movies were just straight out fun & Roger was great to drool over!

Once they replaced him & I had a few more years under my belt I started to wish for more of a storyline & less explosions & wiz bang technology. The last Bond with Pierce Brosnan was so unbelievable it was a joke.

Even he knew it & had the guts to say so, and they fired him for it.

The franchise should thank him for telling the truth since they brought back a more traditional storyline & had a big hit with CR.

CR was OUTSTANDING and has me eagerly looking forward to seeing this one.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond yet.

Quantum was okay. Casino was much better.

You should watch The Tailor of Panama where Pierce does a 180 on the whole spy genre and he's funny as an assassin who lossed his nerves in The Matador although the movie as a whole is a bit slow.

I didn't mean that Pierce was unbelievable as Bond, I meant the storyline & stunts were stupid. Pierce was ok as Bond.

Oh, I know. I agree he was okay and that the series had gotten silly with the invisible car and yet another laser from space. To me, the two movies I mentioned was Pierce's way of giving MGM the middle finger.

I read somewhere where some one said that Die Anther Day started off as one of the best Bond's and ended as the worst. I'd say that was pretty accurate. I definitely liked Craig in Casino Royale much more than Quantam Of Silence. Im not really sure how I feel about the sequel/ part 2 thing

I can't honestly compare Daniel Craig to any other Bond. He's a very different Bond in very different Bond films, they pretty much stand on there own.

All the Bond films before Casino Royal were campy and goofy, Casino Royal and Daniel Craig took the role in a very different, real world direction.

I'm pretty easy to get along with movie wise. But I hated Casino Royal. Maybe cuz I'm not a gambler and not a card player but, in any event, to me, CR was a total snooze. I'm hoping QS is a much better movie. Chris

Available March 24th dear. Not gloating, but I already got my copy. You're more than welcome to come over and watch it. :)

Some Bond movies were better than others. All the actors that portrayed Bond gave the 007 character his own unique signature, but all the JB characters are great. There's not one James Bond movie I didn't like. That's just me though. No doubt that Daniel Craig is different. I predict him to do good things for the series and continue to thrill 007 fans.

    James Bond will return...;)

My preference order is as follows. Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, Peirce Brosnan.

As was pointed out, each brought their own unique interpretation to the role & all could only do so much with some of the garbage scripts they were given.

I mostly go to be entertained for a couple of hours. Although I can only suspend my disbelief but so far.

Thank you Keiko. I didn't know it either, until a couple of weeks ago. Jimmy, Jimmy Bond? That doesn't sound right.

On a side note, you know who I thought would have made a good James Bond? Clive Owen. He was considered for the part but obviously it went to Daniel Craig.

Owen played "The Driver" in a series of short films from BMW. They were pretty close to 10 minute Transporter movies (before the Transporter came out) and he kicked ****. If you can find the one by Guy Ritchie with Madonna in it, or the one with James Brown, Gary Oldman and Marilyn Manson, watch them. The whole series is great. They got me thinking Owen would make a great Bond... and this was still during Brosnan's stint.

I've got all the Bond movies...I can safely say that Daniel Craig is the worst Bond of all time. IMO. He sucks in every possible way, and is the most boring, lifeless, uncharismatic Bond ever.

    1.Sean Connery
    2.Roger Moore
    3.Pierce Brosnan
    4.Timothy Dalton
    5. George Lazenby

    7.n/a
    8.n/a
    9.n/a
10.Daniel Craig. He sucks that much. He's ruined the Bond franchise IMO, and I can't wait until he get's replaced.

Casino Royale was one of the most boring movies I've seen in a long time...and I'm a huge Bond fan. Quantum of Solace was..."better"...but still really lacked compared to the older Bond flicks.

The thing that many dont understand is that they didnt intend for the new bond (daniel craig) to "compete" with the other bonds. Each has his own persona that brings a unique and interesting twist to the franchise. Its similar in a way to the batman franchise, as some were dark/cartoony/sinicle/depressing.

I dont really like to compare the Bond actors because each was able to draw me into the movie a differant way, Connery with his quick wit and "old charm" . Dalton and Moore with their ability to personify the "english gentleman" , Brosnan for his "ladies man" and "wit" , and Craig for his "brute passion" .

Also watched this one last night. Boring, boring, boring. Yes, some action, but action is not all I expect from a 007 movie.
My feeling is that they made this one in a hurry just to put something out.

I agree that QoS wasn't nearly as good as Casino Royale. But, this newest generation is much better than the crap they were throwing out there at the end of Pierce's reign.

My Bond exposure started with the Roger Moore generation so he's at the top of my list. I think people that grew up watching Connery's Bond movies first prefer him and hate Moore. Really depends what you were first exposed to and what got you into Bond. Everyone should agree that Tim Dalton and the storylines he was working with were the worse in the Bond series.

Too much action for the sake of action in Quantum, not plot, not enough humping hotties not enough one-liners / puns, etc.

A watchable action flick, but not a classic Bond flick, IMO.

I watched the BD of QoS last night. I agree that with the Pierce and Dalton generation of the series weren't very good. I grew up with the Connery generation of the series, and of course think those were the best, however I don't have any issues with the Moore generation of the series either. Overall I liked QoS and hopefully it is the start of a new generation of the series that just keeps getting better.

I think one reason Brosnan rates so high for me is hours upon hours of Goldeneye64. I spent a good amount of my college time BONDing with my buds playing this game and quietly growing attached to Brosnan as 007. Well, to be totally honest, I was actually shooting the $h!t out of them.

    Damn I loved that game.

Totally agree with the GoldenEye N64 comments; one of the best games ever. Played all the time in HS and college (until Halo came out and we would have 4 on 4 capture the flag matches mostly on Blood Gulch until 6am so nights).

I actually got together and played some N64 4 player the other day. Still a blast if you are drinking and not overly concerned with graphics.
