I'm thinking you need to pair the Danley with some Growlers :D. Seriously, the Danley probably has a bit more SPL, but once you get to this level of bass, the tradeoffs in capability are very subjective. Unless you have a room that can handle 125dbs + of course.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

True about testing them out in your own listening room. I just feel bad for the foundation of your house. :)

LOL @ the amp picture. Crap, I'll have to think of another name when I start up my own business.

My money is on the Conquest, although the Danley looks mighty menacing.

I think the Danley would work better if you laid it horizontally underneath your TV.

I know Rich a little bit. We talk once in awhile. He told me recently that he was seriously downsizing, so I guess you got his Danley. Congrats. He also had an eD A7-900 and Conquest that he sold to another TX local not that long ago. I thought he had a pair of Growlers hooked up with the Danley, but I might be confusing him with another basshead.

I imagine, there's some seriously tactile impact with that sucker.

when compared w/ the conquest, the danley is able to resolve midbass slightly better - i use the rebecca pigeons spanish harlem. the bass from the danley seems quicker, more accurate...maybe no as deep

i need to go from free standing tv/component stand to wall mounted to put sub under tv. but i dont know if the dry wall can take the weight of the cdp, 2 amps, powersupply and the bits and pieces - those weigh close to 200lbs. vibrations from the walls during those deep bass notes will be an issue if the shelf is wall mounted...cdp and bluray play will skip!...

yep, i stole the dts-20/amp combo from rich. the danley was in perfect condition and the amp..., still smells new! he was nice to give me a very nice interconnect and speaker cable too :D

one thing i found out about the dts-20 is the bass energy from the 2 square bass ports can be very directional. i aimed it parallel to the wall behind the tv and it was causing the tv screen to flex during heavy bass and making noise. so i just turned it to aim at the listening position and it feels good even when the buttkicker is off and no more screen noise

i invited him to come over to audition my setup when he has time :o

actually, a svs cylinder sub upstairs of his house will be nice. i heard sami's cylinder sub on his upstairs ht room, the bass causes the wooden floor to move - feels so much better than buttkicker under a couch.

i think i'm going to keep the danley....i've been in orlando since monday, will go back and play with it a little more and then decide

what i like about the danley so far...

-small foot print, so i can use the front door again :)
-i can aim "shockwaves" :D from the 2 ports at me and that i notice causes less rattling in the room (wall, dlp screen, blinds....) yet still feel the same bass
-midbass is cleaner/more detailed for 2ch

Ever tried decoupling? Get yourself a gramma, should take care of a lot of those rattles.

I would equate the rattling with more subsonic bass.

yep, both the conquest and the dts-20 - double stack of silicone rubber, harder layer (consistency of M+S tire) on floor side and softer layer (consistency slightly softer than r-compound tire) on sub side

    DSC01393.jpg

the rattles come from the compression/rarefaction waves causing stuff to resonate...not from sub cabinet coupling to the ground
