Good job, must have missed those, one of your previous pics had that monster just sitting on carpet. You've got the good kind of rattles then.

The conquest is supposed to sound its best on its side with a 60hz crossover. Just wondering if you could test that while you still have it. (compared to the Danley.)

Thanks and good luck with your sale. I wish I was closer - let me know if you plan to drive to Illinios at some point....

You need to put a call into Early B and/or Sid The Kid. . . cuz, you've got a bad case of the upgraditis / fickiality. Hopefully, they can walk you through the recovery process as I know they've been there. . . many. . . many times.

I'm still thinking the Conquest is the more powerful sub between the two? Maybe too much power. I'm guessing it should be able to out perform that Danley (based on the specs). Drivers-one 12 incher in the Danley, vs. an 18 incher in the Conquest (500 wpc vs 1000 wpc in the Conquest). Plus you are -10 dB at 15 Hz with the Danley. That Conquest goes to 10 Hz.

    http://www.danleysoundlabs.com/pdf/Danley%20DTS-20%20Spec%20Sheet_r3.pdf

Also, it looks like Danley's measurements of max SPL are at 1M and the Conquest is at 2M (room size is also a factor here). FWIW I've meaured 123 dB at 1M with the Ultra and 116 dB a 16 ft.

I'd love to see the SPL measurements of the Danley in your room.

    Enjoy!

the conquest has better spec than the dts20, i remember ron mentioned that the woofer in there is capable of handling 3KW...3000W

i dont have a spl meter...i'm certain both of them are capable of reaching head splitting loudness, my ears will start bleeding b4 the subs run out of steam

specs aside, they only tell you 1/2 the story - it does not reveal speed, tone...and other interactions between sub/room/equipment. i was lucky that there was one fs locally and able to do a inroom comparison.

The guy who sold you the Danley, had both the monster eD and the Conquest in his HT room, flipped both of them and kept the Danley paired with a couple of JTR Growlers. So that certainly speaks towards the Danley's capability. I haven't heard any of them...though I'd like to. I know that Chad thinks he's made the better sub, but then he's slightly prejudiced :D. It's pretty rarefied air with these ubersubs. Abner, you're a fortunate sumbitch to have this opportunity to play with them.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

ron, this is a direct quote from richs email: ".........I used to have a Conquest, A7-900, DD-18 JL 113 Trinity Klipsch THX Ultra IIs, JTR Growlers to name a few. All have been sold Except for the DTS 20 if that tells you anything....."

the conquest is an extraordinary sub, the dts20 is just able to resolve a bit more accurately for a 2ch listening. for ht, they both are evenly matched....maybe i need better bd other than the ones i have, eragon, flight of the phx, xmen3, master and commander to tell them apart

Slo-Your set up is very manly (or should I say Danley?). It's very nice. I would love to see the driver they use in that Danley sub. Have you tried running both subs at all just to see how it sounds? Man, you could make some serious SPL. I've wondered about running the Conquest with my Ultra.

    lol

i tried taking out the 12 screws thats holding the access panel in the middle of the coffin, and there seems to be tar or some vibration dampener and the square piece will not come loose...i just out screws back.

i never fired both the conquest and dts20 together...capable of structural damage for sure :D

buy my conquest and stack your ultra on top :D:D:D
