Maybe it's my antivirus, which is Norton. Reason being I was able to install it on another PC fine without any problems. That PC didn't have Norton, but I think I will install an antivirus sometime in the near future.

Norton will Eff up just about everything. Get rid of it and go with AVG.

Norton is a resource hog. One of the best things I ever did for my computer was get rid of it.

It can't hurt to un-install it and try something else, such as AVG. And if you don't like it, you can always go back for the remainder of your subscription.

I always used Norton in the past.

Maybe that's why I have more computer problems than anyone you know?

That wouldn't surprise me. I used to have Norton AV and their Utilities. They had a system scan/repair application that usually made more problems than it solved.

Since I went with 64bit windows (and was forced to find something other than Norton), I haven't had a single computer problem to speak of. That was in 2006.

The only Norton app that I still use is Ghost for backups.

I use Avast 4.8 and Spybot, both were free and work great.

Ever since I loaded Firefox the web sites that would not load with IE now load. I deleted the old IE, reloaded it and they still would not load. There were only about 4 or 5, but it was annoying (Expedia, some MSN, Weather Network....).
Both the wife and I agree that loading Firefox was a huge increase in performance. Looks like it is here to stay. Thanks for the head up.
