I took my 9 year old and he loved it. It is pretty tame violence wise. There is a really short semi sex scene with Tony Stark rolling around with a chick in panites. No language stood out. In fact I don't remember any bad words. I'd take them both.

It made the mistake of taking my 9 year old son to Beowolf. That movie was PG 13 but it was really R all the way. Nudity, extreme violence and gore. Oooops:eek:

Cool flick!! R.D. Jr. did an amazing job as usual. I still can't figure out why anyone thought he was the wrong pick for the lead role. He can pull off any type of character and is probably one of the greatest actors of my generation. I'm glad he's picked himself up by the bootstraps....most had written him off as a lost cause many, many years ago.

Honestly, when I heard he was the pick for Tony Stark, his past jumped in to my head and how his problems butchered a few of his performances. I was leery but as I thought about it, I couldn't think of a better guy to do it. He has the persona completely. His real life parallels the fictional life of Tony Stark in some respects too.

There are other actors in the recent glut of comic book movies that are great fits and others that suck. The Hulk comes to mind and honestly, IMO, Eric Bana was an excellent Banner but Ed Norton seems to be lacking and that new one which is a do-over seems to be more preachy than it needs to be.

Christian Bale makes an awesome Bruce Wayne IMO too.

But Toby Maguire's Spiderman is a little too "regular guy"-ish for me.

But Ron Perlman as Hellboy is a perfect casting!

X-Men is rife with goods and bads. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, he's done an excellent job! Patrick Stewart as Prof. Xavier and Ian McClellan as Magneto both pinned their characters down perfectly.

Actually, Nicholas Cage and Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider was pretty decent I thought too. It was a pretty campy movie but overall I thought he did a decent job.

I'm going to try to make it out this weekend to see Iron Man.

Going off of Jstas' comments, I bet Heath Ledger totally owns Joker in the Dark Knight. I loved what i saw in the trailers. Just a shame on his passing. Bale rules as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

The Hulk is a wait for DVD for me. The first did little for me and this one may be the same.

Now personally, I thought Brandon Routh was perfect as the new Superman. I really hope they get another of those going. Please, no more Lex Luthor laying Kryptonite on him. I loved the movie, but how about maybe Doomsday pushing Supes to the limit.
    No excuses!

    Just saw this this afternoon.

All I can say is....WOW! Great movie, bar none!

Yes, it had action, tons of COOL gadgets, gizmos, special effects, etc. All those things were really good and made it very interesting. However, it also had great actors playing their roles very well. I can't think of anybody else who would've been more suited to one of those roles. I think they all did an awesome job!

    Definitely a must buy!

I agree! Theyve got casting for superheroes down pretty solid these days. Toby MacGuire is a little too nerdy for Peter Parker IMO. I like how he plays it but I wish he was about 6" taller. Dont remember Spiderman ever being 5'2". But oh well, gotta take the good with the bad - he does a pretty good job.

Christian Bale is awesome as Batman AND as Bruce Wayne. The ONLY thing I dont like about him is when he's in the Batman costume, he looks like he's chewing his face when he talks. Michael Keaton was also an awesome Batman but not as good a Bruce Wayne as Bale....and Keaton has that whole 5'2" thing going on.

Ron Pearlman is great in anything he does! I love that guy. His character in Blade 2 was great I thought.

Dony like anything Nick Cage does. Nothing personal against him, just always sounds like he's got a runny nose and it bugs the crap out of me. Plus he just looks funny.

Xmen was perfectly cast all the way thru. Couldnt have picked a better cast myself.

I really like Ed Norton. Like Robert Downey Jr, Norton is a superb actor and while he's not quite RD Jr's level he is still good enough that I think he can pull off pretty much any role.

Dude, Ed Norton and Ewan McGregor are at the top of my list when it comes to be a versatile actor. Norton can go from nerdy to bada$$. Watch Rounders and then pop in American History X. Can't believe it's the same guy.

McGregor can go from musical boheimian to light sabring.

Bale is right there with them as well.

Downey Jr. is good in his own respect as an actor, but I certainly wouldn't say he's a level about Norton. Maybe the other way around.

Norton is my favorite actor. If you look at his roles (Primal Fear - GREAT movie, American History X, Rounders, Fight Club, The Italian Job, The Illusionist, etc.), no other actor in his age group really comes close. He's not even 40 years old and has a LOT of good / great movies to his name. I think he will be a good Hulk and the Pride & Glory movie is getting some good hype.

This was probably the best Marvel film to date. We really enjoyed the action as a whole. I would watch this again, and I am really looking forward to the blu-ray release on this one. We are going to check the new Hulk, which I think will be a HUGE improvement from the first crapfest.

Took my son to see it over the weekend. We both loved it. I thought it was as good or better then the last Batman.

I think they hit a home run with this one. I didn't find anything wrong with it. It was well done.

Not to mention the awesome new Audi or Audi's.
