I thought The Punisher wasnt all that bad. I agree that the story was a little weak as were the bad guys but the dude that played Castle did a good job. With a proper budget writing and directing it could be a good series.

Let's not forget Batman isn't the only vigilante hero. Thomas Jane was great as Frank Castle, The Punisher. Mediocre script, weak bad guys and yet he was able to pull off a very good performance. I hope they make a Punisher 2.

Punisher: War Zone has already been filmed, is in post-production, and is set to come out December 5th. No Thomas Jane though. He has been replaced by Ray Stevenson (Rome, King Arthur), who I really like as an actor but I'm not sure how well he'll fit in the role (especially considering he's Irish). Dominic West (300, The Wire) is playing Jigsaw, which seems like a pretty good fit to me. The supporting cast is Julie Benz (Dexter, Rambo), Doug Hutchison (The Green Mile), and Wayne Knight (Seinfeld).

Keep your expectations suitably low. It's being directed by Lexi Alexander, whose only noteable release is Green Street Hooligans (which is a good movie, but not something that screams "let her do an action film"), but she's a former kickboxer so she might pull it off. The script is by the same guys who did Iron Man, so... maybe this one will surprise us all.

That guy Dominic West is a good actor. Punisher 2 has got to be better than Ghost Rider or Daredevil.

Ghost Rider wasn't awful, but Nicolas Cage's ham-fisted acting kinda' reeked. The director's cut release of Daredevil was actually much better than the theatrical, and at least the movie had some damn good audio design.

Still, movies like Iron Man and Batman Begins have set the bar SO much higher now. We'll see if The Dark Knight, The Incredible Hulk and Punisher: War Zone can live up to that level of quality.

Marvel has their own studio now and they are taking control of their characters. As opposed
to having to compromise with other studios. Hopefully this will lead to more 'Iron Man' and less 'Fantastic Four'
    and 'Daredevil'.

Because of this change I have hope for the Hulk. The last one was dreadful. Even my kid hated it, and he's
    not that hard to impress.

I don't know about the Punisher 2. That really
needs to be a rated R adult action movie to pull it off.

FF Silver Surf was terrific. I agree the bar was really raised now, and Spiderman 4 looks like it might be good next year too. BTW I recently pre-ordered Iron Man on blu through Amazon. I still haven't seen it but might as well wait so I can see it at a nicer theater (30 feet away).

I'm late to the party. Wifey and I went to Ironman yesterday afternoon. This one is by far the best superhero movie to date. RDjr was exceptional, eye and ear candy galore...can't wait for BR.

I agree! Theyve got casting for superheroes down pretty solid these days. Toby MacGuire is a little too nerdy for Peter Parker IMO. I like how he plays it but I wish he was about 6" taller. Dont remember Spiderman ever being 5'2". But oh well, gotta take the good with the bad - he does a pretty good job.

Christian Bale is awesome as Batman AND as Bruce Wayne. The ONLY thing I dont like about him is when he's in the Batman costume, he looks like he's chewing his face when he talks. Michael Keaton was also an awesome Batman but not as good a Bruce Wayne as Bale....and Keaton has that whole 5'2" thing going on.

Ron Pearlman is great in anything he does! I love that guy. His character in Blade 2 was great I thought.

Dony like anything Nick Cage does. Nothing personal against him, just always sounds like he's got a runny nose and it bugs the crap out of me. Plus he just looks funny.

Xmen was perfectly cast all the way thru. Couldnt have picked a better cast myself.

I really like Ed Norton. Like Robert Downey Jr, Norton is a superb actor and while he's not quite RD Jr's level he is still good enough that I think he can pull off pretty much any role.

I would agree with the Toby McGuire/Spiderman comments.......a little too nerdy but not all that bad!

Christian Bale has been my favorite batman by far!!!!! BAR NONE! He just nails his role and I think Ledger's Joker is going to be amazing!

I agree with Jstas in that Ghost Rider was not that good, but i thought Cage did a good job on the role of Blaze!

As for the new hulk movie, I hope its better than the last one! I didn't even finish the last one!

(This next series I feel like I can speak on cause I have been reading the comics for years!)
As for X-Men i would say that it had good and bad casting jobs......Jackman did a decent job on wolverine's attitude and personality, but his build is just off! Wolverine is supposed to be short and built! not that tall! Cyclopes, Grey, X, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Rogue, iceman, and beast were all great for the most part! I didn't like how they made Storm! I think Berry was a good look for Storm, but she started to change the look and wouldn't let herself be in a role that was more background! She had to be Berry and be in the front or center of attention! Besides that and some weak important side story lines that they completely dropped i still enjoyed the movies!

Just finished watching it. I'm sure many of you won't be shocked when I say this movie was a let down for me. With all the hype, I expected it to rival Transformers. The movie was OK, but not great at all. The ironman suit was awesome, but the story was weak, inspite of great acting from Downey, Jr.

    *****SPOILER ALERT******

The last fight scene was particularly weak. Ironman didn't defeat the bad guy. He had to get his "girlfriend" to do it. I guess they forgot to build a set of nutsacks into the ironman suit. To make matters worse, in the final scene this arrogant **** announces to the world that he's ironman. Why????

And dueling ironmen? C'mon. They could have been more creative. Oh. I forgot -- it's Hollywood. Can't expect too much creativity to come from that place.

Great movie....although I felt it was a little hot in the subwoofer area. I had to dial my sub settings down a bit...a bit overwhelming in my opinion.

Just got done watching Iron Man on Blu Ray and it sounded great but it wasn't as good as I hoped. Still a decent movie. Not enough action. I liked his house and cars.

Well, I finally got a HDMI cable for my FP. Iron Man Was the first movie I watched. My new Marantz upconverted it to 1080i. Wow what a picture. I thought the movie was really good and the SQ was great too. This movie has some serious BASS.:D
