I'll be making a run into Pasadena tomorrow and will have a better picture of what the best course of action is in regards to mailing things.

Also, if they use PayPal they can accept credit card payments which would potentially increase the amount people could give.

That's what I was thinking too but will they let you 'send money' to an individual with a credit card?

Yes you can, some people take advantage of this with high $ back credit cards to make money.

P.S. I believe the 3% fee is only if it is a Premier account, a normal account accepting money from bank accounts shouldn't be subject to the fee.

If someone wants to PayPal, you can send it to me and I'll in turn send you a receipt. I have a Premier account so be aware they charge me a fee, which has nothing to do with me personally. I'll update any funds being relayed by the end of each week until he's on his feet again.

The account name is my email address.

I can't really part with any REAL donations in the form of cash right now as I'm hurting myself from MED bills. But, I'd be more than happy to donate some gear, low-fi / mid-fi, but something to start listening to. I don't have any speaks to speak of but I do have pre-amps and CDP's I could send. Cheapo IC's and some speaker cables.

The time honored way to do this is to set up an account at the local bank for donations and send the checks directly to the bank in care of the recipient.

Well, I know there are quite a few threads about William here and at Audiocircle but as I didn't want this information to get lost in one of them, I figured we need one more. I spoke with William just a bit ago and can honestly say he is truly blown away by the outpouring of concern and well wishes people have been showing. We have been going back and forth, trying to come up with the best way to allow people who want to a way to help. The consensus has been the request for a Paypal account. Turns out William already has one. For anyone who wishes to donate whatever they can to help William and Courtney get back on their feet, Williams Paypal account can be accessed at:

    williamwaldecker3@msn.com

William said he has forgotten his password to this forum so he has not been able to post here. He wanted me to let you all know that he is aware of what is going on and is just overwhelmed. Anyone who wants to drop William an e-mail can do so at:

    dorothy_sandusky@comcast.net

When I first posted about the situation William and Courtney currently find themselves in, my intention was merely to let Williams friends know what had happened. The response from the people here and over at Audiocircle has been overwhelming. The world may be going to Hell in a handbasket, but the people here and over at AC prove there is still a lot of love and kindness left in the world. You guys rock! Thanks and God bless. :)

There we go. I'm going to merge this thread with the others and update the information overall.

    Thanks for posting Merle.

I know there are a lot of goings on for the chap right now, but I sure wish he'd pop his head in here, and let us hear what exactly his needs are from the man himself.

Someone mentioned he had forgotten his password, so howzabout Justin or some other Power-That-Be do some hacking and give him a new password; give that password to Doro to pass along, and we'll call it macaroni.

This news is so sad. I have sent William some money via Paypal, I also sent him and email letting him know that I have clothing if he needs it for both him and his daughter. Once he gets settled, I may have some audio gear that may interest him that I will donate.

I wish William and his family the best. God Bless!
