1977 Honda Civic. Manual everything including choke. Has a 2 speed slap stick tranny.
No power brakes or steering. Am radio with an aftermarket FM converter.

I later installed Craig 6x9s in the rear and 5" Jensons in the front, powered by a Craig deck with power amp. I had the first compact car with a loud kick **** stereo system in the area.

This is exactly like my first car minus the 428 Cobra Jet motor. Exterior, interior, color etc...I still have it by the way...but not in the shape of this one.

Just a quick question, doesn't that make it not the same car, since the engine dictated the model?

Haha, bought it for $75.00 when I was 15 with the hopes to fix it up. Drove it a total of 2 blocks before I paid somebody to haul it away. Those two blocks were quite the memory, though. A shock was bad on the front and the right side of the vehicle would bounce up and down about a foot every 10' or so when I was going the top speed of 15mph. :D I broke down about 10 times during those two blocks.

I was SO cool back then........

From there on I got serious about cars starting with a mint 1979 gold 6.6 Trans-Am. Yeah baby!

No. Back then you could order any car with any one of several available engines (and if you know how even engines that supposedly weren't available - ie: COPO Chevys). That is simply a Mustang Coupe. The build sheet is exactly the same as my car except it has an engine code R (428 SCJ) vs my code F (302 2V). I have seen the car pictured in person at at least 3 times at Mustang Club of America meets. It is very rare.

Mine was some sort of vomit beige. I hated it at the time. Beat the living snot out of it. I was hoping to kill it so I could get something better. It did do pretty well on the hill climbs, and in the woods. The hatch back could hold 2 1/2 barrels, and ice.

Ok, I'm pathetic. I dug up a couple photos of my first, mentioned above. Back in 87, this was just about all I cared about. I think I had a Sansui head unit, some HiFonics amp, Pioneer 3-ways in back with a pair of small dual cones up front (can't for the life of me remember what brand they were). At the time, it rocked. This was before car audio really took off.

This car, like any V-8 with straight duals, sounded awesome. I haven't had a car that sounded so sweet since then.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

First car I bought for myself was a '72 BMW 2002. Before that I shared a '68 Firebird with my brother. Then my parents helped me buy a '70 AMC AMX. The BMW is the only one of those I regret not keeping.

First two cars (78 Chevy Malibu Classic, 93 Honda Accord) were bought by my parents when I was in High School. After I graduated in 95, I joined the Marine Corps, and bought a new car after completing my 1st overseas tour in 97. A 96 Chevy Beretta Z26, definitely was a fun ride. It was even in a Sportscar Magazine after I tricked it out a little.

1st car-given to me by my parents (so they didn't have to drive me around anymore) 1976- Datsun B-210 Honeybee; **** brown with honeycomb hub caps and bias ply tires.

2nd car as mentioned 1976 VW Scirocco- black (paid cash w/graduation money)

3rd car 1979 Ford Fiesta "S"- Silver w/racing stripe; 4 sp. Kinda of a tin can, vinyl seats and no center console. Economy car 101

4th car 1984 VW Rabbit GTI- Black; Maroon Recaro seats; 5 speed; sunroof; low profile (for the time) 14" Pirelli's; performance exhaust and lowered 2" with Bilsteins. A true go-kart. God that was a fun car the original "Hot Hatch". A big step up from the Ford Fiesta

5th car 1986 VW Jetta GLI - Red with Gray leather interior; 5 sp; luxury and handling. Fun to drive but not like the GTI although it was nicer on long trips.

6th car 1983 VW Rabbit LS (heading off to college after community college) Baby Blue; 4 dr; automatic. A real slug, but completely dependable which is what I needed away at school. Truly formerly owned by a little old lady it only had like 40K miles on it and it was in perfect condition. Normally I despise automatics but I needed a car quickly and this was a cream puff.

7th car 1995 VW Jetta GLS (new) - White; 5 sp; all the options. Bought during the last year of school w/my fiance. Kept the Rabbit as well.

8th car 1997 Nissan Maxima - Green; 5 sp; leather was the wifes car which went with her after the divorce.

9th car 1991 VW Golf GTI - Black; 5sp; lowered; performance exhaust. Another fun car to drive. Bought the car with 60K and just got rid of it a couple years ago with 200K on the odo.

10th and current car 1997 VW GTI VR6- Black; 5 sp; leather; sunroof. Too many mods to list. The most fun car I have ever owned. Quick, handles like it's on rails; mostly dependable. It's a gas hog relatively speaking.

Glad I got that out of my system :p

    Lost virginity in it? Yes
? I try to drive it at least every 3 days. My mechanic(s) gave it a good tune-up and most everything else it needed last year after sitting in my garage for 25 years. Working factory a/c. It's a rust bucket but that doesn't bother me a bit.

First car was a 2-door Jeep Cherokee sport, forest green, gold trim and gold honey-comb wheels. 5 speed manual, no auto locks or windows, beige cloth interior, inline 6, 200-ish HP. . . didn't weigh a thing. Fast as hell, but turns out it didn't offroad as well as I though it could.

Broke the axle driving on Bush (I-90) before it had pavement.

Later totaled it. I was a little foolish in my younger years.

First car I bought myself, an Acura 3.2cl type-S coupe with 44K. Black on black, with some cool trim inside and 17" rims. Nice, fast (265hp or something), has everything I'd want in a car except the paint seems to wear very poorly. Still driving it today. All paid off and now 111K miles. Still love it, but I think I need to get a new timing belt soon and that'll cost me about a source and some ICs.

The 69 Mustang was MY first car. This is the one I learned to drive with. 1966 Ford Galaxie 500. 352 4V. A HUGE back seat for those extended philosophical discussions in high school (front bench seat was more than adequate as well).

I still have this car and it is in good shape as you can see from the picture.
