If you have room for another amp, the FM amp plus a 2ch amp to power your rear surrounds would be your best option budget wise.
$2500 for an Adcom from your current amplifier, I'm not so sure you would have been that happy. With the Earthquake things might be different. -

I know you're talking about the Cinenova Grande 5, but what does "FM" stand for? It's probably super-obvious but I'm missing it...lol -

Update on the speaker layout issue that I originally started this thread for:
I called Polk Audio tech support today and the friendly who I spoke with said that the LSi/FX speakers will be perfect in the back corners of the room if I toe them in and set them to bipole mode to help localize the sound.
The side surrounds, of course, are just fine where they are too and they need to be set to dipole mode.
Oh yeah, one more thing....
I ordered an Earthquake Cinenova Grande 7 :D:D:D:D:D -
Sweet, should be the last amp you ever own. Careful moving it, its a beast.

Yeah, moving the thing around will definitely be an experience. I shopped some local electricians today and got some price quotes on running a 20A dedicated circuit (~100ft; 50ft there and back) just for the amp. I'm getting quotes for about $150 from the last two electricians I've called. I guess I'll set that appointment up pretty soon. -

Just the thought of it being the last amp I should ever have to own...I don't know if I like it (because that means it's awesome) or hate it (because I like getting new toys )

Wow, so much for putting the Cinenova Grande 7 in my A/V rack. The weight capacity of each shelf is fine but the amp itself is just huge. After looking around online it looks like I'm going to have to buy a separate amp rack and sit it on the floor by my A/V rack.
At least it'll be down there where the coolest air is.
I think I'm gonna go with this one because it matches with the VTI BL404 rack I plan on ordering 2 of:

The amp stand seems to be short by 1" compared to the depth of the earthquake amp (20" vs 21"). I'm going to order the stand anyways assuming that the feet on the bottom of the earthquake amp are inwards at least 0.5" each on the front and back of the bottom of the amp, so that even though the amp will be bigger the feet will still be within the footprint of the amp rack.
Can any earthquake owners confirm this? -
The handles add 2in so the amp actually measures 19in deep.

Perfect, thanks for the help Gaara.
