We all have owned a car or two in our time so which one was your favorite?

A little personal question I guess but at least it's not like I'm asking for your shoe size or what kind of toilet paper you use or what your checking account number is! Besides, I'm bored at work 'cause it snowed here today so this place is a ghost town and nothing is going on.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I've liked every car I have even owned. I still have my Ranger and while that has been in my possession for 15 years now at least and I put it through hell, it's not the one I liked the most. The Lightning is way cool and tons of fun but it's a bruiser and still a pickup. Not exactly endearing to the opposite sex. The fact that it can take a stretch of highway and chew it up faster than a good 80% of the cars on the road today is a bit of a detraction in others' eyes too. So a pickup with a warp drive that screams like a banshee and wakes up the neighbors in the morning is a blast but not my favorite.

The one I miss the most is my Thunderbird. Yeah, it was just a Ford but it was "big ballin'" at the time. It was painted Ford's Opal Frost color which was one of Ford's "color shifting paints". It went from silver to blue to purple to a darker blue. Had 17 inch chromed Cragars with steamroller sized BFGoodriches on it. Tinted the windows too. Had fancy-pants performance shocks and struts with big sway bars and stuff too. But it was super comfy inside and everyone who rode in it fell asleep. It was like driving a Lazy-Boy down the highway. It was a 4,000 pound cruiser that didn't accelerate like a bat out of hell but it would hang with BMWs and Porsches in a turn or on an off-ramp. Had a nice stereo too! Yeah, that was my favorite car and I had it before I was married. All the girls always wanted to ride in it. It got parked with the BMWs, Mercedes and Lexuses at the clubs and always drew attention pulling up to the front door. That car was bad-**** and I miss it. It was defiantly my favorite car.

I've liked all my cars for different reasons.

My first car was a 1979 AMC Concord, and the only thing to like about it was that it was my first car. It had a manifold leak, so it was loud as ****; it barely made it up most hills, it was brown mixed with rust.... but it was awesome when I was 16. :)

After that I had an '89 Acura Integra, which was my first manual transmission, which was fun, and the thing was TINY so perfect for driving into college (in Boston).

Then I had a '93 VW Passat VR6, whcih was amazing to drive... except it never drove, spent most of its time in the shop, cost double what I paid for it to fix it, and then ended up in a junkyard. Fu(|< that car, and VW too.

Let's see... then I had a mid-70's Pontiac Grand Prix. Oh God that thing was awesome. Black. We called it the Batmobile. It couldn't get out of its own way but it was so huge and badass until the transmission up and died.

Hmm... then I think I had a Ford Escort wagon, which was SUCH a dog, even with a 5-speed, but was such a piece of crap that it was fun to beat up and completely not care about. For all the abuse I gave that car it really held up, especially with over 100k on it.

Then I got my first real car (ie newish, financed), an '03 Dodge Dakota pickup, which was all right. Definitely loved owning a pickup, definitely hated owning a Dodge.

And now I have an '04 Subaru Outback Sport, which I love.

Phew, I've had a lot of cars for a 27 year old.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

My 99 Regal GS. If I didn't ruin it by making the ride too harsh, I'd still have it.

Had an Opel Manta Rallye (sp?) back in mid-late 70's. It was my first car, it was orange (yes, orange) w/a flat black hood and black stripe down the side. Oh yeah, it had a "gaagoooga" horn. Yeah, I was pretty cool.

Favorite car was a 1988 BMW 325. Had a ball in that car until I almost died in it.

Actually, I'd consider our current A4 as my all time favorite. I've wanted an Audi since the mid-80's, so when we finally got one I was ecstatic.

My most reliable car was an old 1983 Nissan Sentra stationwagon. I paid $500 for it, and swore I'd drive it till the wheels fell off. 4 years later, I was tired of waiting for the wheels to fall off, so I sold it for $250. Not a bad net cost for 4 years of ultra-reliability. Of course it was baby blue and ugly as sin, but it just wouldn't quit.

My current ride is my favorite. 2002 Chevy S-10, 4.3L V-6. 1st & probably only new vehicle I will own. It has a/c, cruise cntrl. and a cd player. All the comforts I need with a pretty much bullet proof powertrain. And it's paid for.
Although....I do miss my 1973 Cutlas Supreme w/ 350 Rocket. What a SLED!

1979 Pontiac Trans-Am. Gold, 6.6 shaker hood, dual exhaust, 1/2 mile to the gallon [highway] and she was all stock with the exception of the rims, tires, flex fan and rear adjustable air shocks. I absolutely LOVED that car. So much that I even had a name for her. "Julie".

Favorite, the new one. :D Between my wife and I, we've had about 30 cars and trucks. While not all were great, usually the most favorite one is the one we just picked up, whatever that is.

I've had my current one, a diesel Excursion, for about 4 years so far, which is unusual but it's a keeper for now. In about 3 hours we pick up my wifes new ride, a 2008 CLK which will likely be at the top of the favorite list for a while since we haven't had a convertible in quite a while.

Oh, 2nd on the favorite list, behind the "new one" is the one that you "own". :D

My first car was a used 1980-something Ford Escort. Was cool cause it was my first car. Was also glad to get rid of it.

Second car was a new 1989 Mercury Tempo. It was a fine car, but started developing some minor tranny issues around 40k, so I got rid of it for...

My third car which was big time badass and fun. !993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. I had some seriously fun times in that car. I modded it out in 2002 and had even more fun with it, but times changed and I started thinking bigger and more luxury. I sold the Mustang about a year ago due to it just sitting.

#4 was the 2003 Ford Explorer. I really liked that truck when I wasn't sinking money into it for repairs. The dead tranny at 94k miles was the final straw.

#5 ROCKS! My 2008 Honda Accord EX-L. Sweet effing jesus i love this car! This thing has a luxury feel AND sports car feel wrapped into one. It handles like a dream! Over 400 miles out of a single tank of gas makes me smile even more!

There's no question about it, it is the old Nissan sitting out in the garage currently w/o an engine. My current daily driver, E65 BMW 745i, comes in distant second. Can't think of anything special in the past, although my dad's Simca I still remember. 1965, most likely it was a Simca 1000.

That would be my first car. In 1981 I bought a 1972 Olds 4-4-2 from my Grandfather's car dealership that they had taken in on trade. Immediately dropped it off in the body shop and had the bumpers re-chromed, show quality black pearl paint, and a new front seat installed. It was perfect.

Sadly, about three years later, someone offered me about three times what I had invested in it. I sold it, planning to buy another one to restore. Never did find another one.:(

I really liked my 300 td Benz wagon. I could fit three bicycles in the back, three people and gear and still get 30 mpg. To bad the seats were so dam uncomfortable. My volvo xc dosen't get quite as good fuel economy (25 mpg) BUT THE SEATS ARE SO COMFY and it has a bit more power. I really like it

As far as trucks, my 95 powerstroke crew cab was a work horse and that got 21 mpg, my new power stroke has a lot more power and far more comfortable seats but right now I could do without the 15 mpg

67 Camaro RS/SS. 350, 4spd, 12 bolt w/4:56 gears. I took 5 years restoring this car and ended up with a street racer that was a sleeper. Looked stock..till you looked REAL close and listened. The motor was only slightly built, but the drivetrain and suspension was tricked with a back 1/2, rollcage, frame connectors.....etc. I built a 415ci SBC that made almost 600hp on purple Cam2 fuel. I'd swap the motors (motor plates makes this real easy) when there was a weekend show or cruise. Pulled high 9's in the 1/4 and was a blast to drive. Sold to a man from Birmingham during a Super Chevy Show in Atlanta for $30k. It was a sweet ride. I want to do this again with a 64-67 Nova.

9.60's - 9.70's and would launch straight as an arrow. I had a buddy, Danny Bentner (Warren Johnson's old chassis builder) help me set the car up. I could launch and almost clear the 60' line before making an adjustment. I loved that car. And I WILL build another now that I'm single again and can afford it....LOL

I had a 90 Nissan 4wd reg cab pick up. I used to ski instruct and fish when I wasn't instructing. That little truck took me everwhere without a complaint. There were times I should've crashed in places I wouldn't be found for a while, but that truck always managed to save the day.

My other favorite was an 82 Yamaha Vision 550 watercooled v-twin sportbike. That bike used to beat much bigger bikes stop light to stoplight, and handled like a dream for the era.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.
