The second song is a hoot and nice demo track, lots of stuff going on in the background and well recorded. Have fun.

I find "Not Too Late" a bit slow for my taste. I prefer her two previous albums, Come Away with Me and Feels Like Home. For a different spin on Norah, try Peter Malick's "New York City" featuring Norah Jones. This is Norah singing Blues/pop before her mega-star Come Away with Me album. Basically, the story goes that Malick heard Jones singing at some local coffee shop and thought her voice would be great with Blues. She, however, wasn't comfortable with Blues since she prefers jazz so I doubt we'll hear her sing anymore blues. Too bad.

    Highly recommended.

Like Venom said...alot going on in the background

It`s kinda slow, but sometimes that`s a good thing !

    Oops. Where are my manners?

Enjoy! Great stack of music you picked up there and yes Starbucks is a surprising place to find music. My local shop once had Ray Charles Genius Loves Company.

If this album is slower than the first two......I think those are two of the most boring albums I've had the misfortune to listen to.

Yes, it's slower. Her original producer from the previous two albums passed away. Not Too Late is Norah's attempt to create original material on the entire album and without her producer's guiding hand.

Exactly. And pretty. I am not a fuddy duddy music wise. I listen to Pearl Jam, White Stripes, Arcade Fire, Rage Against the Machine and NIN et al and I LOVE Norah. It's just a different gear.

I can't blame Shack. Singers like Norah, Diana Krall, and Laura Fygi are enjoyable when mixed together. Listening to any one of them entirely for hours will put you to sleep or have you looking for a rope or razor blades unless you're a crazed fan like me - I can listen to Krall for days. :D

You've got some exceptional source components, so maybe all those tubes will take the edge off! With my Jolida CDP and Rogue pre feeding my SS amps and Magnepans, it made my ears almost bleed! The rest of the remastered Led Zep CD's are really nice!

The 1.6QR's. I've had them about 2 years. Source components are the Jolida 100 CDP, Rogue 66 Magnum pre, and vertical bi-amped with Parasound HCA-1500A amps. I have the Mye stands, Signal Cable Ultra speaker cables. Sounds pretty nice.

The 3500 is an outstanding amp! I think you can go to almost any speaker except a big electrostatic with those amps! If you can listen to a pair of Magnepans you should take in the experience. Mine aren't going anywhere soon, well unless I win the lottery and can afford the Sonus Faber Cremona Elipsa's

Norahs come away with me cd is one of the most listened to cd's I have. It is VERY relaxing CD to say the least. I usually pop it in and listen to from begining to end. It never gets old.

Some electrostats drop to an almost 1 ohm load from what I have been told, which most amps won't handle. If your considering electrostats you'll want to make sure those amps are compatible. SCompRacer could probably give you a more informed perspective.

She should have stuck with the blues, she sings them much better than she sings jazz. I'll second Danny on the New York City SACD.....simply excellent!

Bear, I posted about the Mothership CD a month ago, where have you been bro? It's mastered hot and therefore is bright.
