Dynamat Extreme is the best stuff but like you said, its kinda pricey.

Raammatt is my second choice. Very close to the Dynamat in performance but an **** ton cheaper.

I used to use Dynamat Xtreme, but have since gone with Second Skin's Damplifier Pro...seems to be better quality at a lower price. Both are top notch quality-wise- I have both Xtreme and Damp Pro in my current car.

Second Skin does sell direct (unless they have an arrangement with their dealer network like in Canada not to), and is well worth looking into.

Thats a pretty good deal. That is about $150 off retail, and Amazon.com aint no Ebay type dealer so it should be on the up and up.

Dynamat is one of the best and I recommend it highly. One web site that offers low price alternatives is EDESIGNAUDIO.com. Give them a look. They have some for around $1.00 per square foot. I have used it but its Dynamat for me from here on out.

Anybody ever use FatMat? I got just 50 sq ft roll off ebay for $39.00.

    http://www.fatmat.com/

If it's not as good as the Xtreme or SecondSkin than I'll just give it to my installer for some labor trade off and go with Dynamat Xtreme.

    Questions:
    1. Is the DynaXorb or SecondSkin's speaker backwave product worth the money? Why not just do a layer or two of Xtreme?
    2. How many Sq Ft would you all estimate I would need for an '03 Yukon XL... 4 doors? Do I need to do anything else? All my sound is up front even the sub (in the console...Stealthbox)
    3. Any tricks of the trade for a Noob?

The Dynaxorbs aint a bad idea and do work in theory and I do use them but they are damn expensive. Not really worth the money if you ask me.

I just got done today deadening my doors with Second SKin Damplifier Pro and it is easy to work with and made my doors sound really solid. I normally use asphalt based deadeners, but I think I'm hooked on Second SKin stuff now.
