I've got a pair of these beauties (I'm the only owner) that are in perfect condition. Where / how can I find out how much they are worth. I'm in a condo so these are just too much speaker.:)

Welcome to the forum. This site has some completed ebay auctions.
www.polksda.com
Not up to date. They go for anything between 1,200 and 2,500. It all depends on condition and if there's enough interest close to the sale, since these are rarely shipped._________________________________________________

Thanx for the info & welcome. I was thinking about $1000. So, maybe I might decide to ask a bit more. yea, I don't think shipping them is going to be an option, so proximity does become an issue. Again, thanks Ricardo!Testing

So, any other Polks? Why not hang out around here? This is a great forum with lots of knowledge and helpful people. We can be a bit of a PITA with newbies sometimes, but those that put up with us become part of a great group of audio nuts._________________________________________________

Actually Bagged is probably on his way right now. He has about a 3 hour head start from me out here on the Cape. My wife would NOT allow those in the door however:o. I also have yet to hear a pair:(. -

Welcome to the site. You should know you are selling the speaker that most people here worship like a god. Get your posts up to 25 and you can post them in the forsale section. They might last a day (if they last past this thread). I would sell my first born for a set if I had the room or a wife who would not **** about my speakers taking up too much room.;)Michael

What is the value of the POLK 1.2 TL's?? Good question. As an owner of a nice pair, my ears tell me they are worth at least $10,000. Of course, you can't get that on the "used" market, but I am only telling you what I think. I have heard many a fine speaker, but I can't name one under 10K that really beats them. I wonder what I think mine are worth when I upgrade the x-overs (Mills and Sonicaps). I would start the bidding at 10K if I were selling. That way I would never be "POLK-less".

Thanks for alll the votes of confidence. i actually just got home and found the sales slip. the manual is in perfect shape. i'll take some digital pics and post them. this is fun....Testing

I really don't think it's proper of you to come on here asking what the value is for a pair of Polk speakers that you want to sell. I think it's even dumber for folks here to provide that answer. Not to mention the fact that we have strict rules for selling any item here. You must have 25 posts and it must be posted for sale in the Flea Market section.

Why not? Really, wouldn't this be the first place anyone would go to ask for the price of a vintage Polk speaker? I don't see anything improper with that.I think it's even dumber for folks here to provide that answer.
Come on Jesse; this is not proprietary info.... easy to get with a little searching. Besides, if someone would have jumped saying that they cost $300, that would have been improper. Not to mention the fact that we have strict rules for selling any item here. True. but I see here a very different behaviour than in recent "unpleasant" situations. I don't think we need to jump at everyone that wants to sell something. People will get their 25 posts and will offer items for sale. If there's interest and the price is right, there will be a transaction.
Just my POV._________________________________________________

Geez, sorry. didn't mean to get anyone's undies in a bunch. was sincerely trying to decide if to sell them or not. wasn't trying to break any "strict rules". I was having some fun and learning, but truly feel bad now. My humble apologies. Didn't mean any offense at all. was surprised to see how worshoipped the things are. oh, well, like i said, sorry.Testing

Maybe, maybe not. I'd probably do my own homework rather than rely on a group of strangers.Come on Jesse; this is not proprietary info.... easy to get with a little searching. Besides, if someone would have jumped saying that they cost $300, that would have been improper.

So, it's ok the break the rules for one because they happen to have a pair of 1.2TL's to sell, but not another whom may have something less than? I don't think so. We don't know a new person, the rules help weed out the punters. The way I see it, any new person asking the value of something AND stating that they are ready to sell the item is circumventing why we have the rules we do. As you stated, I "feel" the PM's flying......that's not right.
mralpha, my comments are directed more to the forum than to you. They should know better, you're new.
FYI, here are the rules. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/announcement.php?f=34

Welcome to Club Polk mralpha!
Tell us what are using to power those 1.2's?? Do you prefer digital, vinyl or both? What kind of music are you listening to?
Do you live near to Newburyport?Carl -

No, it is not ok for anyone to break the rules. And I don't think they are being broken here. If somone is making a deal via PM's and gets scammed, well, that someone deserves it for not being careful (Not that there's going to be any scam here...just saying). If any new user gets to 25 posts, then posting a for sale add does not break the rules. The way he/she gets to the 25 posts might make a difference on how "accepted" he/she is, but he/she will still be a "stranger", and anyone making a deal with a stranger needs to be cautious.
I think that 25 posts is too low, and the reason why we get into these situations, and newbies with a slight indication of wanting to sell something are attacked. We should increase it to a lot more._________________________________________________

IMO the threshold should be at least 100 posts.I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

I think a seller should have 69 posts :eek::pPolkFest 2012, who's going>?

well let's see now if i can answer all the questions. first off, i checked on e-bay and coudn't find anything. when i googled sda srs 1.2 it led me here. as i said, i have had the things for almost 20 years! wife and i wanted smaller now that we are in a condo. actually have already bought something else, so money is not an object. i just wanted to be fair and get fair. i'm 57 and a vp of hr at a large company so if i sell them for 1000 or 3000 doesn't really matter to me. ias i said, i've already spent another 1500 already. in fact i might not sell them at all! so in the end, it may be this forum that loses out when i keep them or sell them elsewhere. maybe i'm naive, but it has been quite abit of pain to get when i ask a polk forum a question like how much are a vintage set of speakers worth. life is much to short guys. maybe it's my age but it sure hasn't felt like it was worth the trouble to ask a simple question. by the way, to answer some other stuff, i've got them tri-amped with b&k mono-blocks (200w) for each low end and a b&k st140 (105w/channel) for the high end. ilove old rock (joe walsh, reo, supertramp) the blues (larry mccray, anson funderburgh) and jazz (larry carlton, grover washington, david sanborn). i have over 1000 cds and also run a pioneer elite 60 inch plasma through my system. so, if anyone thinks i'm trying to cheat, make a few extra bucks, or somehow screw the members of this forum thay are absolutely and unequivically wrong. there, i've said my piece, goodnight, i'm tired!
by the way, about 15 miles frfom newburyport!Testing

Well said and best wishes in whatever direction you may head with these. This group can get a tad feisty at times, but they are a protective lot and also very knowledgeable of all things audio. Can also be entertaining as hell though.

Welcome to the forum.
You are apparently a music lover like a lot of us. We need cool heads like yours here. Your efforts on information about your speakers seemed to be a legitimate effort. Personally, I wouldn't sell my Sda's but it appears you have made your decision. Get your 25 posts and "git er done". Good luck.>

mralpha, please don't be offended, but yours are not the first "mint" pair of SRS 1.2's we've come across here. This forum and the members are quite familar with every make and model of Polk Audio speaker. Some of which you and other's have never seen or even heard of.
This forum welcomes and survives by members participating in it. It survives because there are friendship's and trust built up over time amongst the members. Polk gives us a place for us to learn, teach and build lifelong friendship's. THe forum could not survive without trust.
I think you are an honest guy. I hope you will make the right decision and get a fair market value out of your SRS's. Asking a simple question like your's, "what is the value of the SRS 1.2's?" isn't always an easy one to answer.
It's like asking what is the value of a mint 1953 Austin Healy car. To some people that value would be very low. To a afficiando the value would of course be more. To a collector, even more. So that's why I think you didn't get a straight answer to a simple question.
My SDA 2B's have great value and bring me alot of joy, but to many other people on here they may not.
thanks and the forum welcomes you here.
