Right now, I'm power my RTi speakers with a Denon AVR-3802. I'm looking to buy a receiver with HDMI switching. The only one in the right price range is some of the AVR-2106 or similar, which only have 100wpc do u think it'll make a big difference?

You will not hear a difference of 10 watts on solid state amps.

doubt those numbers are legit anyway.....too many variables to know if you will notice a difference.

I'm more concern of going from a 3802 and downgrading to a low end denon just for HDMI. The 3802 has been extremely solid, I would not want to sacrafice anything of it. If I can find a 3806 that would be golden but I need to spend under $500 for a used one. :(

Find a model with the features you need/want with preouts and go with a 200wpc power amp, then you'll hear the Rtis sing.

You would more here the difference in the preamp than in the power amp between the two recievers.

Now if it was a 100watt power amp you were comparing to a 110 watt AVR - I would say yes, you will hear a difference - but AVR to AVR no (in the power anyway).

Check the authorized refurb denon dealers for good prices (you need to go to the denon site to find them). Not sure when denon added the HDMI, but if you wait untill the next model comes out, you can find the older one for a better price.

You won't probably be very happy if sound is important. The amplifier in the 3800 series products is much beefier than the lower end stuff. It's kind of like the first "real" Denon.
