    Its up to you dude.

I like a higher stage so I like my tweeters up higher.

Best thing to do is to grab some double sided 3M tape and try the tweeters in different spots and see what you think sounds best.

i couldnt do it the same way u did bro, momos are too big, heres what i did so far...
I started it just like u and cut to right where u had it, too small, made it bigger, and noticed that was i was doing was a complete waste because the factory speaker is too small to use as a spacer, i cut out the rest and it actualy came out amazingly perfect considering i used an electric knife that caught my eye in the dish washer this morning, screw the turkey, imma cut my car instead.

o yeah, i need a 2.5 thick MDF spacer, the local store over here says its gonna take about an hour and a half so they wana charge 90 bucks + materials, the owner even said its a ripoff but if he dosnt charge that it would come out of his pocket, he was cool though, gave me some 4 gage scraps for my ground cable and sold me all the connectors i need for 7 bucks total

Thats a huge rip imo. Just grab a 3/4" or 1" board from your local hardware store at least 13" x 7" and cut the spacers yourself with a jigsaw... even if they look like crap like mine do, it'll do the exact same thing and cost you less than $10 and 30 min of your time. I'm a student so I'm all about saving money (or at least spending it on things worth while). Do what you like, but thats my $0.02

    Looks good, btw.

When I had the 5.25" coax up front, I made a small spacer on the door frame and used the stock grill to cover it for a more "stealth" install.

Thats a nice clean cut, great job! The momo grille looks great on those panels ;)

Black magic is right bout the spacers, you're better off making your own... for that price you can probably even get a new jigsaw hehe.

Instead of using a 2.5 in spacer screwed to the metal door frame, you might wanna try using a single 3/4 spacer screwed to the plastic sleeve which surrounds the hole you made. But you're still gonna have to seal up the gap between the sleeve and the door frame with something (this is what I used the gutted stock speakers for) ;)

Btw, Have you decided on a tweeter location?

I think it should look something like this:
    MMC6500.png

I'm not familiar with the newer civics but it'd be even a better idea if you can secure the MDF ring to the frame.

or have a nut/washer at the end of the screw to hold it in place.

i already have how im doing it, i just gotta get somone to have the tools
so i can cut the rings, and i rather have a perfect circle so that i dont have to cut the thin part of the door pannel that kinda acts as an encloser, it will help to keep it from rattling

Eloplayspolo, speaking of rattling, I found it helpful to put some foam around the square power door lock connector for a tight fit into the round outer part of the socket coz I noticed mine was a bit loose and made a slight rattling noise. I'm eager to see how you mount the spacers to the door frame as I might try to re-mount mine the same way when I get the momos ;)

    Photo-0143.jpg

Black magic, you have the momo grille under the stock grille?

Yes, I had momo grill on the speaker, and the stock grill over that. Now that I think about it, both grills were certainly not necessary, but it made it a tiny bit easier to mount because the mounting holes, were "u" shaped.
    mmc525.jpg

However, I Don't use those speakers anymore (they'll be going in the trunk later). Right now I have the momo 6500's in kick panels because its too cold to throw in the SR's, another amp and re-do the wiring during this weather... even in the garage. plus i don't have much spare time. So unless I can find a heated garage to work in and a free weekend, thats just gonna have to wait.

im such a lazy Piece of crap, i said screw doing the false floor plexi glass deal for the amps, and just decided to get 15 feet of industrial velcro (27.99) and mount the 4 chan on top and the Mono D on the back. i also now have a ton of trunk room, im doing the wiring as i type which brings me here, I have a cap, i paid 35 bucks for a 2.5 farad cap, i know u guys dont say i need one... but whatever, i have one, My plan is to use it as a distribution block also, Battery to cap, cap to amps....

4 gage is going from battery to cap, would using 8 gage be a waste to go from cap to amp?

also, is their a plus to using 4 gage as the ground? or should i just use 8 gage?

When i amp grounding the amps and cap, can i do it all in the same spot?

IMO its better to use the 4 guage for everything so the current will flow easier. ;) You can ground in a single spot just make sure its scraped to bare metal, but if you can ground on multiple points (like when you put in a grounding kit) it would be better I think.

all im gonna say is industrial velcro is amazing, i have my cap and 2 amps on the box, and i can pick it up by the amp, thats about 80 pounds, its not going anywhere, im gonna velcro it to my trunk, and honestly, its not going anywhere, if someone trys to yoink it they are gonna flip out because they dont know what the hell its attached to :)

Haha! I was also thinking of using velcro to strap down my small box to the rear seat but was not sure if it would be strong enough... I'll check out that industrial strength velcro... it comes in strips right? :)

You used your cap as a distribution block meaning you got power lines running from the cap to both amps? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that kinda defeat the cap's purpose? I mean, the sub amp and the seps amp have different power demands, and with the seps amp adding a more or less constant drain to the cap, wouldn't the cap be unable to build up enough reserve for that extra boost needed by your sub amps for those really low bass tunes?

Problem fixed, cap couldnt handle it, i used a distribution block to go from main feed to 4 chan and cap then from cap i went just to sub, so far i have the rear tweaters sitting in between the rear headrest and the seat to hold them in untill i get my hands on the drill bit i need, and the frotn tweaters arent even in yet, the sound is amazing.

your system might be robbing your battery for power. Is your battery's charge low? Same thing happened with my bro's car. You can get a cap and it'll go away, but theoretically, the problem is still there. So the best thing to do is upgrade your alternator and get a deep cycle battery. What amps are you using?
