guys,
the hum goes away...this is what I did, I started with restoring the OSD setup on the 1065 to factory default, and then reconfigured the setting (i.e. assigning the optical output for the DVD and CD) to the 1065 optical output, and voila, hum dissapear...obviously I don't know why it does that, the only think I can suspect, is that the analog loop doesn't like component output, or may be the component out cable (it's a monster M1000CV) is the culprit. Nevertheless, I will need to rework on the setup again next week with the LSi. For the time being, I am content and glad that it got resolved....thanks for your help, fhI am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
TroyD,
just for tips......the HTs series has ground loop isolaters built in.When you run cable/dss or Off air antenna threw it, the hums usually goes away. This is something I come across alot. Most hums are grounding problems.
polkatese,
glad to see you found your problem, anytime I can help.Enjoy man.Dan

Sure Dan, but for less then 50 bucks you can purchase a ground loop isolater, ****, they used to have them in the Polk store. I'm just saying, it's a problem that can be solved inexpensively and in most cases without having to purchase anything.

Dan, I read some of your earlier posting on the merit of speaker cable, 14 awg monster biwire (S14-4) all around should give me more than adequate sound quality, right? fh [/B][/QUOTE]
my self i think that speaker wire sound the same being the same gage, but there is a differance in sound in interconnect wire so you should experiment with interconnects more than specker wire, its because of the low leval electric out put of the pre amp. rt-7 mains

They benifit each other in my finding's.Using 14 - 4 all around isn't a bad Idea.Dan

yes, i guess the speaker wire would benifit, but i cant tell if it dose, i can tell on the interconnect wires though, the low level interconnects are more accettable to interfearance & singal loss than specker wire. so a better upgrade to your interconnect wire would bennfit more. rt-7 mains

Jraush,
thanks, I made the mistake during the design of the wall unit, forgetting that I have a center channel, but LiquidSound just gave me an idea to put the LSiC in the right spot....might have to rework the center glass section...
Dan,
so far I've been listening on the 5ch mode just on the LSiFx, LSiC, and RM-3000 (front)...and it's two thumbs up, even with the fx set to dipole..basically, the C and the Fx overwhelmed the rm-3000, in terms of tonal quality, dynamic, and openness. And boy, with the 1065, I can pump the volume with no distortion nor hiss. It's amazing, I was watching sting (dvd) - ALL THIS TIME, the instruments sounding out very clean, punchy and full; acoustic bass, trombone, piano..
I used those wireless phone jack for the directv, I didn't bother to add phone line there cause I don't care so much about making sure that directv keep their tab on my pay-per-view consumption.. but I do need to find an ISF specialist to calibrate the rptv...and your offer sounds very promising! anytime you are in the area, you're welcome to stop by.....I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
