That's right, pm or email me, and you can pickup the VM-30's for a demo in YOUR home. This is available to ALL DFW local members. If you are a new member, start participating on the boards and you can jump in the demo ring in a little while (I'm not sending a $2300 pair of speakers out the door with just anyone). You are also more than welcome to come demo them in my home (McKinney), before anyone signs up, or inbetween demos.

This line array speaker is designed to used in conjunction with a subwoofer, if you don't have one, you make take my PSW111 along also for demo. They are finally broken in, it has taken nearly 150 hours for the sound to STOP changing. The speed of these things is incredible, and imaging is superb, lots of layers and depth to the music. The midrange simply blossoms. Love them, hate them, all we (Polk) asks for you to post a review on the product page at the conclusion of your demo time. It doesn't need to be a 5000 word Stereophile review (which is fine!), short and simple is appreciated also.

Sign up now!

DEMO COMPLETE, Stay tuned for upcoming demo threads.

How well would these timbre match an LSiC center or an LSi9 used as a center?

I think you could get away with it, but they sound different. The VM series seems a little more aggressive, a little more forward in the midrange and upper midrange. It's a not British monitor sound ****, but it's not the laid back, warm sound of the LSi.

They also get loud FAST. I can't believe they are rated at 90db, they seem more along the lines of 93, 94db. I've got them blended with a Signet 15" subwoofer crossed over right at 55Hz, and it's a LOT of fun to listen to.

    Cheers,
    Russ

This meeting will be post Cowboy whipping on the Patsies. Looking forward to it. I'm off to an overnight campout and will be back Saturday evening. In addition to what's in the sig, I've got a pair of RTi6's, a CS-350.

Ok, do you need directions Walter?

I've got them here and setup, or did you want me to bring them to you and leave them for a couple weeks? I just want to make sure you aren't sitting at home waiting for me, and I'm sitting here waiting for you.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Bring on over if you don't mind. There's nothing quite like an extended in home demo. I'd be happy to write up my listening experience.

Walter, I deleted the pm with your phone number, shoot me a pm - if no one has said they are coming to your house - I'd like to bring them by tomorrow after if possible, I've had a 'situation' arise I need to take care of.

    Cheers,
    Russ

The speakers have landed for an extended demo. Kudos to the Polk family for exceeding expectations once again. I don't many, check that, any speaker companies that send demo speakers out for our listening enjoyment. Look for a detailed review soon.

Got a chance to spend some serious time listening to an equal mix of HT and music. I wrote up my thoughts here, http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/individual/floorstanding/VM30/?reviews=1

Andy is. Let me know a time for pickup, and I'll grab them and take them down to Andy's and get him going on the demo. After that, I'm going to force them on some local polkies.

Stay tuned Walter, you've got new RTiA floorstanders headed your way after break in.....

If you could when you have time, post a review on the product page for the VM30.

    Cheers,
    Russ

If I had a more worthy system to run them, I'd consider that offer as well. I'm just about to start redoing the living room as I bought a new plasma TV so I can get more of my 2-channel gear in there instead of my office. So, my location for current listening wouldn't do them justice. I also have a new Sunfire sub coming in the next couple of days and it won't be anywhere near musical yet, either.

You are next on the demo, after Andy. I don't care what you run them on, if it's entry level electronics GREAT - we need input across the board on these. ;)

Then you are going to get some new RTiA's to play with in a few weeks, so be ready. It's your duty as a local polkie, you have no choice.

Keith, you are next on my list.

How soon will this be? Before or after Thanksgiving? I'll need to check my travel schedule and see when or where I have to be? Gotta love being an electronics rep during the Holidays...

That's a local only demo. They are expensive and difficult to ship.

Russ, I can potentially pick these up tomorrow morning or mid-afternoon. Let me know if that works. If not, I'll be up in McKinney for Turkey Day next week.

okay. i am in the dfw area. i have sampled the vm30 at the frys store, but setup not correctly. it is in open space not in a room.. i understand there are speakers in the back. bi or di polar?.. however.. i would love to have a real listening experience to these new ones. i look forward to being impressed. i am an avid lsi person, as i do indeed own them. russman.. lets do some demo-ing. i do have some things i would like to ask.. bout the upcoming lsi.. however lets hear those vm30's.. hope it will not be like the a9's which where in a room

I'm not sure you'll like the VM30's over the LSi's, but by all means, demo away! I prefer the sound of the A5's over the VM30's. But that's probably due to the fact that the "A" line more closely resembles Polk's old LS line of speakers.

Russ, I'm just about to walk out the door headed for Tulsa for the Holiday weekend. Maybe we can work out a meeting time for me to get the VM30's back to you so they can go to the next person on the list.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, etc to all....
