So - I've been getting 9 hours for the past few days...

And then last night I get 7 and feel VERY tired. But this doesn't happen if I was getting 8 hours a night before. So it seems like the difference (-2 hours) makes me very tired, but a difference of -1 hours isn't enough to make me tired.

Weird how I'm fine with 7 hours after a week of sleeping eight, but when I get a week of 9 hours and then I get 7 everything goes downhill.

Here lately I've been tired all the time, and I don't know why. I'm getting 8-8.5 hours of sleep every night.

It's weird... now that I'm back to working day shift, I sleep a lot more. I tend to go to bed around midnight, and get up at 8 for work. Now tonight, I'll go to bed at midnight, but don't have to be up 'til 9, so I'll get 9 hours :)

When I was working third, I'd grab an hour or two in the morning after work, do some stuff around the house, and then catch another few hours after supper and before work. I needed a lot less sleep when I was working all night. I also found that if I kept myself away from windows and the outside at work, I'd be much more lively. I think if my body realised that, "hey dumbass, that 1'o clock is AM NOT PM" it would make me tired. Likewise, being home during the day kept me awake because it was light out, and of course, you're supposed to be awake during the day, right?

At any rate, third shift worked much better for me than day shift does :(
    Ludicrous gibs!

This makes no sense whatsoever -

I'm tired with 8-8.5 or even 9 hours of sleep, yet last night I get 7 and I feel better?

lately I've been getting some nights 3-4 other nights 7-9hrs. Depends on how my back is doing and how much tossing and turning I do. Not to forget how many meds I take and how often. Sucks BIG bone!

5hrs but I wake up at least every hour to 1/2 hour during the 5 hour time period. If i get 2 hours straight of knocked out sleep that is perfect, but of course that does not happen.

The other odd thing is that sometimes I'll be up at 2:30AM or 3AM instead of my usual 5-6AM. And I'll feel less tired with less sleep.

Appadv, I would suggest getting a checkup just to make sure everything else is ok. Make sure you get a blood test as well.

i ave. around 4-5 hours of sleep. maybe that's why my weight lifting and online gaming suffer so much.

..although, maybe it is the weight lifting and gaming that is the cause of 4-5 hours sleep.

I was very sick for quite a few months but now I'm fine. I did get a checkup and it seems that everything else is okay, for now.

I can operate completely on 2 hours of sleep -- but will go to sleep very well the next night...

That's the thing. You (and many others) can operate on 2 hours of sleep, yet I wouldn't have nearly that kind of energy to do it.

And then there are others that HAVE to get 8+ hours of sleep.

    Odd isn't it?
