I'm connecting my first home theater system and I was wondering if someone could clarify on the Belden 5000UE is there a positive/negative with respect to the black and white wires? I'm happy with the quality of the wiring.

It doesn't matter as long as you keep it consistent.
Use black for black (-) and white for red (+). As long as you are consistent you are GTG. -
