why limit yourself to just these two brands of cables?

I'm open for any brand. While I was searching for interconnect some preferred Blue Jeans, some Signal Cable so. I can't afford like MIT,KImber Kable etc.. Anything around $50 or so would be fine. I don't mind the used one also. Probably Early B's sale.

Both are homegrown companies. Both use the same wire. One makes it pretty & makes you pay for it & one doesn't.

Both are quality cables. I let my wallet, & common sensze decide who got my business.

Basically it went something like this... Wires stuck in the back of a machine that were not distinctly in plain view that weren't really going to be touched after connected.

    Winner BJC!

Right on. We could use some more common sense around here.

Yeah, I found that Heartland cables are most bang for the buck if they use the same cable. Is it?

    BJC
    Heartland Cables
    SC
    Or
    DIY

    MKZ,

Heartland uses 89259 the same as in the SC Analog 2.

A 3ft pair of 89259 w/ bullet plugs is $80 from Signal Cable
A 1m pair of 89259 w/ bullet plugs is $55 from Heartland Cables

If you don't want bullet plugs talk to Dan at Heartland and see what it would be with Canare plugs. Should be around $15 less, putting them cheaper then BJC as well.

As for quality I am a happy customer of Dan's. I have bought maybe 6-8 pairs of cables from him, component video cables, a sub cable, a couple of digital coax, and lots of speaker wire. Heartland was the best bang for your buck when I purchased my first system many years ago, and still is to this day.

Also if you look in the testimonials at the bottom of the page I am JR from CT. He replaced a set of component video cables for free when I busted them by accident, great customer service.

    That....
and he'll actually talk you out of a higher priced cable or IC, if he feels a "lower end model" might be better suited for your system. How 'bout that?

LOL! This is precisely why he does it. This kind of loyalty & publicity is very hard to come by.

It pays for itself, so of course he's going to give away a few cables, since he will more than get the money back from referrals.

    That's just smart business sense!

    Let's call it Marketing Strategy.

I got the email back from Frank and here it is:
Yes you do get a 5% discount, which will come out to be $2.75 on the 3ft pair ($55).

    Best,

    Frank

I have also emailed for heartland and waiting their reply. Just want to go with lesser value for the same cable.
    BJC - 45 + 5.75 shipping = 50.75
    SC - 55 + 6.95 shipping - 2.75 = 59.20
HL with Eichmann Bullet Plugs - 55 + ? shipping

    MKZ,

If you want bullet plugs add $25 to the price of the SC. If not ask Dan how much it would be without them, I would imagine the HC would be ~$15 less or so, as that is what he used to charge to go with them instead of Canare.

    :D That works for me!

We all know that the cable business is a money maker business with tons of markup involved. It is up to us to be knowledgeble consumers & go for the best that we are willing to get & pay for once we discard all the hyperbole involved in the marketing.

Received the email from Heartland and here it is.
    Hello there,

A one meter pair would be $35 plus $7 for S&H. Let me know if there's
anything I can do for you.

    Thanks very much.

I decided to give it a try. Thank you Gaara and everybody.

I cant comment on the sound quality of either BJ cables or Signal Cables as I got my shipment of Signal Cable wires/interconnects last week and am still waiting for my amp to arrive next Thursday. After which I will use these puppies to connect everything.

Ive attached some speaker cable and silver interconnect **** :D

1st Pic: New SC Ultra Reference Speaker Wire (10 gauge) vs my old 14 gauge with Monster Quick Lock Connects
2nd Pic: Pair of 5 ft SC Silver Interconnects with silver bullets
3rd Pic: Specially made SC Silver Y-splitter with silver bullets
4th Pic: Pan out of old 14 gauge and new SC Ultra Reference Speaker Wire

My girlfriend just let me know that I am a weirdo for taking pictures of wires and posting them online ... yeah, I agree but than again she takes TOO MANY pictures of our dogs and posts them online. :)

That's a good price for pure Silver. I can not find anywhere else for less than $100. I should have known before I ordered others. I went for cheap this time since I have to buy 3 pairs for SACD 5 channel connections.

Too bad you're still breathing. I have one of two problems with you. Either your ears suck and you just can't hear the difference between a good cable, a bad cable and an exceptional cable. Or, you made up your mind that wire is wire before you even tested for yourself.

By the way, Monster 200 Cable vs. Monster 1000 Cable does not count as testing.

Get some real equipment and quit playing with your sony boombox.

Finally ordered some speaker cable (12AWG 5000UE) from bluejeans last night. I would've preferred the signal but i went with the economy. I'm eager as to compare any audible difference between the bjc and this generic stuff I'm using now. Thanks to all for your positive posts and recommendations.

That's exceptional speaker wire. I doubt seriously if you could tell the difference between that and most costing more. Just not as 'pretty' as some have eluded too. ;)
