BTW Darla, you are not getting any younger, you won't be able to physically handle doing umpteen hours of overtime forever, just to buy something that you are rarely home to listen to, just to sell it a few months later, to try something else new! :p;):D

True. Thank goodness I have a state retirement. I got a while though before I am long in the tooth and even then I hope to still be fiddling with this stuff because I ENJOY it.:p

No response from the seller.............so 'eff him. With the new found ease of building an AI-1 cable I'm going to do that then get some mono's. Probably the Monarchy's because my bro is extrememly happy with his. And there's nothing like virgin amps arriving from the manufacturer :D .

Nope, don't need dac's, don't need tubes, don't need no ultra fancy cables or IC's. I already have a TT & tape deck, which no longer get used.

That reminds me of the song from the 50's - "Don't know much about his-tory, don't know much about bio-gra-phy, don't know much about au-di-o...:D

Soon I will have a prepro to match my 405WPC KICK **** AMP! I'm going to hook that baby up & get lost in the tunes. (which is what it's all about!)

Cathy, I will PM you my Addy so you can send me them since you are not using them.:p

So wanting to get the best possible audio reproduction is insane and a misplaced priority :D .

Cathy just doesn;t have the same audio drive some of us do. She's happy with what she has, and that's her business. I do however get a little frustrated when she tells the rest of us we are crazy or it's not necessary to get new gear or tweak, etc. It's my passion and each piece has elevated my listening pleasure, and it's not a placebo.

If she were to try it she'd be pleasently surprised how these little incremental tweaks add up to big time improvements. But I respect the fact she's not interested. But don't tell other's it's foolish or a waste, etc., etc., :)

I'll stop teasing you incesscent tweakers when you stop deliberately messing with a wonderfully sounding system, & proceed to screw up the wonderful sound.

Then you come on here & whine about it & bemoan your loss of good sound.

Your so called fun messed up an already good thing then you complain about it. It can't be that much fun if you feel the need to come on here to complain about it. Sorry, but I think that is foolish.

YOU CAUSED IT, DEAL WITH IT! Or better yet, if it's not broke, don't fix it!;) :D

You gotta understand, cfrizz -- for men, tweaking is like getting laid, but complaining that her feet were too big, so we're off to the next conquest. Next time, her feet will be smaller.

The fun part is not only in the act itself, it's the anticipation of it all, then we need to give ourselves a reason to do it all over again.

BTW, cfrizz -- how big are your feet?;)

    Here's the woman's version --

Women can never make up their minds; they don't know know what they want, and when they get it, they complain about it and want something else. That's why wonderful women like wingnut are the envy of the most consumate male tweakers.

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!:D This thread is priceless!:D

I beg to differ with you EB! I know EXACTLY what I want & I don't mind exercising a lot of patience to get it.

I stalked Audiogon for over a year to get either a TGP III or 4! I wasn't going to pay more than 1500.00 for one. My ship finally came in last Saturday & I got one for 1,350.00 + 36.00 for shipping! It will be here on Tuesday.

When I went in to my supervisor to tell him I was taking the day off & he asked why, I told him I was getting a new prepro! He asked what does that means in english!:D :D:D:D:D

When I showed him the manual, I had to jump back out of the way because he promptly started drooling all over the floor!:D He said that was DEFINATELY worth taking a day off for!

Both Darla & I are anomalies as far as women go. However Darla is in a league all her own!  :p:D

Oh yeah my feet are a size 7!:p

    Cathy --

Notice that my remarks included wingnut by name, but not you. You're definitely on the other end of the spectrum, 'cause there's no way in hell most of us would wait a year for gear. It's cool, though. Glad you got you wanted.

BTW -- size 7, huh? Mmmmmmm.... (drool..., slobber..., more drool...)
