Furutech has come out with a less expensive LP flattener. The Furutech DFV-1 runs $1480 at Acoustic Sounds.

If we could come up with a way for it to become a club owned piece of gear we could chip in and pass it around.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm in on a multi-ownership program. There are a few of us heavy duty vinyl lovers. I say we split it several ways and ship it around. I'm thinking maybe splitting it 15 ways, $100 each, we each get it 3 weeks a year and ship to the next guy/gal? Something like that...

I am serious; all we need here is for somebody to organize this. I will volunteer. PM me directly if you are willing to participate. I will keep all interested parties informed on progress, and we can all decide when we are ready to pull the trigger based on number of entries. I think that 15 is a good number, but it could be more (not too many). If we get there, then we need to determine who will collect the funds and order it. Let's not get into this until we get there. Thoughts?

So if we could find 15 people good for $100 each we could get it. Down the line, a new person could buy into it as well and their portion of the payment could be spread amonst the present owners at that time. That way, the more people who buy into it, the less it costs everyone (and of course the less time we will have it in hand in the future).

I am not a die hard vinyl fan like some of you as I am extremely happy with my most amusing ModWright Sony 9100ES CD/SACD playback. However, I do have some warped records that need flattening so count me in (as long as we are in the ~$100-200 range).
