Just made it to Farmer's Market.....I feel like I am relatively far in the game but for some reason I don't think so....haha.

The power to the people things are awesome, I upgraded the damage on my shotgun(absolutely insane) and upgraded the damage on the grenade launcher.

Killing the Rosie's is so easy with the improved shotgun....then you gotta love harvesting the little children.

So far I love the game. How far is everyone else?

I demoed the game to one of my friends down the street last night. His initial reaction was how good my HT sounded. So, that felt nice, but it says alot about the sound quality of the game. While it has awesome graphics, it was the top notch sound that really impressed him.

I know for a fact he had some HT envy that night.

Finished upgrading my shotgun, favorite weapon so far.

I just deployed the Lazerous Vector, I know I'm getting close to a good fight so I gotta stock up on ammo. My wallet is full and I haven't been able to pick cash.

Do the upgrades to the shotgun make the reloading any faster?

    Figured it out.

Game over. That's the fastest I've ever beat a video game. Time to do it again on hard.

    Edited for spoilers!

Watch it with the spoilers man.

Thanks for the edit Bagged. :D

Wouldn't want to ruin it for the others out there. I think I might have played through this game faster than any other game I have ever played, with the exception of Prey, because that game was mad short. Bioshock is just one of those games I could not put down.

Nice job Bagged, I have never been this hyped about a game in a long time.

    Lefthanded favorite weapon...

    1)Telekenisis
    2)The ice
    3)Bouncer becomes your friend
4)Twister (actually works best with a lot of enemies in one area, not so good going one one one with splicers, and zero effect on Big Daddy's)

    Righthanded weapons
    1) Crossbow (deadliest weapon I found, ammo is scarce)
    2) Shotgun (Love the exploding Buck)
    3) Machine Gun (Very damaging when the weapon is upgraded)
    4) Chemical gun (I use this a lot due to a lot of ammo to be found for it.)

Things I really like/love. I love to hack **** up. I can't wait to hack machines! I am rescuing all girls, next time through I will harvest. I forgot what physical upgrade this is but I love it when the enemies touch you and they become shocked. (Sorry I am at work so I cant look it up) That is very effective against spider's. I also like the other upgrades you can aquire that helps with health, hacking, security.

It sounds like so much to take in, but the game is very seamless. And the flow of it is just perfect!

I'm at 37 out of 50 achievements right now, two more then I will have to rebeat the game this time saving the little girls rather than harvesting them.

The skill tonic you are talking about is called Static Discharge and yes, it's badass. Have you gotten natural camoflauge yet? That is by far the most helpful out of any tonic there is. Set the alarm off, don't move and you just fade away. Worked great when I was robbing all the storefront windows in Poseidon Plaza.

Don't forget to max out research, the bonuses are awesome as well.

Yeah I have the Camo and your right it helps tremendously with the security cameras after they are activated. I have almost all of the research done to. I need a few more Pics of the girl, and I know I am in the third stage of the bouncers. The only one I am having problems with is the Nitro splicers. I am at a point in the game where I just don't see a lot of them. Not sure how many acheivements I have, but it is in the 20+ range.

Funny how we are taking the opposite routes of the game harvest vs. saving. Nice thing about saving the girls is you get rewards after so mant saves, so I think in the end it does make up what you lose "Adam" wise when you save them.

The security camera plasmid is the only one I rarely use. It's the one where you tag an enemy and the camera sends the helicopters after them.

What happens is that a recording starts after about the fifth save, and i think its Tennenbaum tells you she appreciates your efforts and there is a present waiting for you by a plasmid/adam buying station. You then got to that station and there is a teddy bear there. Usually it is 200 Adam, some coin and tonics.

Again it usually happens after 5 saves. I know it has happened to me at least 3-4 times.

Just got my copy yesterday guys, excellent graphics, and the gameplay is fun. A little creepy with the voices in a 7.1 setup but definitely a worthy purchase. The bass is insane, my 2 SVS PB12 Plus/2 subs had the house shaking. Walls vibrating, literally. I could only get to the hospital scene last night, just got into it shortly, this weekend its on.

This is one of the first games to really push some LFE out of my system. I just bought an Onkyo 705 and used the MultEQ XT with my Polk/SVS setup. Man, this has some of the most brutal bass of any game I've played! The Big Daddys stomping around, the RPG turrets, and the rocket launcher are all scary to hear. With the SVS 20-39CS+ kicking and the Buttkicker under my couch going, the effect was AMAZING. Now I just need to find a pair of RTi38s so I can go 7.1 instead of 6.1.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

Just finished the game Saturday night. Amazing and fun. Replay value will be high, but right now I am on to Tiger Woods 08, so the game will be shelved for a while.

For some reason I missed a few pictures, and I am thinking they are the turrets, helicopters, and cameras. (Never thought of that until now) Also missed a few weapon upgrade facilities. So I ended up with 39 out of 50 achievements. Not to shabby with one go around of the game.

Thats what is up next for me.

Finished the game this morning. Just plain excellent. If there is anyone out there that is still deciding to get the game or not, you are stupid. Just go get it, its awesome. Its one of the best 10 games I've ever played, and probably will be the best game of the year.

I missed quite a few of the achievements as well, and I thought I was being pretty detailed in my searches and scavenging. Oh well, what a shame, guess I'll have to keep playing it some more.

How would you rate the difficulty of this game, say against something like Gears of War as a first time player?

On Easy, this game holds your hand and builds you up to the more intense stuff gradually. Plus, there's no shortage of health packs... and even if you die, you just get sent to the nearest Vita-Chamber. Definitely easier to jump into than Gears.

I played the demo and it wasn't too bad. I think I'll pick it up.

GoW absolutely kicked my ****. I bought it, played for about an hour and put it back on the shelf because I got too frustrated with it. I intened to give it another try, but probably need to get more comfortable with shooters first...

    Its much easier than Gears.

Don't get too frustrated with Gears. I am very familiar with shooters, and even I took a while to get used to Gears. Its a totally different style of play. The things you do and choices you make in a typical shooter won't jive too well with Gears. You have to change your gaming behavior a lot for Gears. The reward is well worth the learning curve.

Just finished the game and I've got to say it's one of the best one player games I've ever played. Sound, graphics, storyline, everything very immersive and top tier. Extremely creepy on a full sound system. Just laying proximity mines sounds like you're blowing the dang launcher up with every mine. And you can even do stuff like play the piano or guitars. And even your own music sounds freaking creepy.

The one problem with this game is the difficulty. It really isn't meant as a challenge to FPS veterans. More like a moderate walkthrough to get to all the eye candy instead of focusing on getting ammo or combat tactics. When an upgraded wrench is better than a shotgun for close range and a crossbow beats a machine gun even when you empty a clip into the badguys, you know they could have done better to work on the gun play. I made it through on the hardest difficulty and got 46 out of 50 the first time through. A lot of that was done just by hacking the turrets and cameras so I had ample time to just explore.

But it's really easy to just get lost in the moment as you wander around the world. Although I enjoyed the tactics of gears more, bioshock was just a wonderfully immersive gameworld so you didn't want to be fighting all the time. And it is a lot longer than gears (if you explore), although people probably fire right through it 'cause they just can't put it down.

Just beat it again tonight.....I'm now up to 43/50 achievements.....

A little spoiler to some of you, I know you will thank me later:

After you finish Cohen's Masterpiece, DO NOT KILL HIM. DOOOOOO NOT.

You'll see why later in the game, and you'll thank me.

Tonight was my 2nd time beating it and I wasted him not knowing that I needed him for something at the end till I looked it up. Don't make my mistake.

Tomorrow I am going to go back and hopefully finish picking up all the diaries. I also need to finish some research for the PHD achievement so I'll take care of that.

This time around I rescued all the little sisters, the ending was different.

Yeppers. Just as you finish proving grounds, save the game before you go to the last elevator, You can run through any other level you want to get what you missed.
