I, too, will miss nascarmann not only for his advice, but his personality. I haven't been here long, but I have gotten to know him as a good man. His final post was in a thread titled "under the radar" in Off Topic:

I finally stumbled into this thread today after noticing that it had
become the most active thread. I had to see what all the
    hoopla was about.

    Wow.

Much too young. Truck driving is not a healthy profession. I did
it for 3 years, and that was enough for me.

    I will miss Nascarmann's wit.

Nascarman was the guy who kept me coming back more and more to this forum. He was funny, witty and well informed. I have been thinking about him a lot. It is strange to be affected by the death of someone you know only from the internet, but I have been thinking about him a lot today. I guess you do that when someone younger than you passes away. He seemed to me the kind of guy you would want for a neighbor or close friend. Warm and friendly with plenty of ornery and fun. So long Shane.

    Guys,
I just can't describe in words what you mean to me from your love and kindness. I wish I could have let you know sooner about Shane, but I could'nt function. I wish you all were here right now so I could give you each a Big Long Hug. I don't know what I will do without him, and feel very lost. I feel part of me is gone and my heart is completely broken into. Your support means more than you know. His Mom recieved the flowers. We cried together over your love for Shane. Please know that I feel as if I know you, Shane talked about you all often. You have my love, and can call me anytime, or e-mail. I would like to keep up with how each of you are doing.
    Love Always,

Kim, while watching your favorite DVD's or listening to the Tunes that make you happy, please jump into the Forum and let us know how things are going.

We have a great thing going on here and it would be an Honor for us if you would keep posting for the King.

    Sincerely

    Kim,

Ditto what the HBomb said, by all means, keep in touch with us. I had extended to Shane a few occaisions that if you were ever in or around Charleston SC, that you were always welcome at our abode and that offer still stands.

Shane will most definately be missed but I think it's safe to say that our lives are richer for his presence and that is something that can't be taken away.

    Kim,
As a mater of fact, why don't you join clubpolk? I'm sure at some point you may have questions about audio or video stuff or whatever. You could be nascarwoman! You are always welcome here and we would be honored to have you.

    Also,
You should print out this thread and keep it. Some day when you are thinking of Shane you could pull it back out and remember the good effect he had on all of us and know that we will always remember and miss him. Thanks for posting.

    Kim,

Just wanted to say ditto, ditto, ditto to all of the above. If you ever need anything do not hesitate to ask as I am sure that all of us here would do whatever we could for you. I really had hoped to have gotten to know shane on a more personal level other than in the virtual one. I'm sure that there would have been much in common that we could have shared. I just feel fortunate to have at least known him through here and found it realy cool to know that he was just around the corner from bristol.
Keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing, let us be your shoulder if you need it.

Guess I need to spend equal time in all the forums. I just read this all today. Now that my eyes have cleared I can half-**** type. Now I realize that nothing can be said that could equal the person nascarmann was.

I just found this thread today. I'm stunned like all of you.
Through bleary eyes I read such an incredible outpouring of good emotions for shane. What a great guy. I've never met the guy, much less heard his voice..nevertheless I can say this has truly impacted me.
I could send money, flowers, cards...but none of it would make me feel any better. What I can do is ask The King's wife, what was his favorite music choices? What did he listen to most? Fave DVD's?
Listening to, watching and collecting choices in music and movies is the ONLY way I can really pay my respects to such a great guy.
    May he rest in peace.

    Gents,

About a month ago, nascarmann sent me a copy of: Russ Freeman / Craig Chaquico: From the Redwoods to the Rockies. It's a great cd, one that I highly recommend.

Wow I am stunned. I knew this thread was going on but I thought it was just a rant that some of us get on and you read a bunch of nothing. What great sadness I feel this morning.

Anyway, I will have a six of MHL in your honor tonight Nascarman. From one Yammie owner to another, you were faithful to your gear, and relentless in standing up for it. I can imagine how you felt about family and friends, and what you would do for them. And that puts a smile on my face.

Kim I hope someday your pain will ease. Shane left much to early in life, and he left a hole in this forum that will never be filled.

i to like so many others here just found out about nascarmann. although i never had the chance to meet him.. his wit and valuable information on this Polk forum touched a lot of people.. as is evidence by the the posts on this thread. Thanks to Russman and everyone else who helped to organize sending flowers to his family.
This forum will be a little less colorful without Shane. But i'm sure he'll always be with us in spirit.

nascarmann friend, you will be missed.
