I put some AudioQuest GBC solid speaker wire in the Reel Time Rig today, nice........seems to have a bit more detail and clarity than the Monster S-14-4 bi-wire I had been trying.
Nothing like getting wire and hearing changes, damm that pesky empirical data.
I did vacuum the carpet as well:D

Now, see RT1, it couldn't have been the cable swap. When you vacuumed, the static electricity caused by running the vacuum changed the molecular structure of molecules in the air and within the carpet fiber, thus affecting the electro-magnetic energy surrounding the speaker cable, which in turn changes the physics of molecular structure and flow from within. That's gotta be what you heard.;)~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

How would you compare the bass? I see the GBC FS used a lot and may just pick some up the next time if there is a noticeable difference. Type 4 is supposed to be the ticket for "budget" wire but GBC is even less expensive.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I liked the type IV cable a lot, until I tried the MIT wires. Of course for the price of MIT's you could buy tons of type IV and pass it out to everyone you know.

Exactly Max, they are in different leagues.
I experiment with the lesser wire to keep in touch with what is available. I really did not notice any improved bass response H9, however, I just started using it and maybe it will break in a bit, the MIT has a huge difference in break in, the last speaker wire I got from MIT sounded like **** the first time I hooked it up, it took a full 48 hours of burn in before things started to turn around.
HCMAudio.com has the GBC on sale, a new eight foot pair for 80 bucks terminated however you like. I think they are an Audioquest dealer and also have the coral connects on special.
