I have no idea. I'd imagine not, but I am just guessing.

Call the seller tell him about the **** job he did packing the receiver, tell him you want a refund plus shipping charges. if he does not comply, put a claim with paypal. If paypal is not willing to help you out, then place a chargeback claim with the credit card company you used thru paypal. His paypal account will be frozen and the credit card will fight in your behalf to get you a full refund. The credit card issuer will stop charging you interest on the disputed charge and will request that you send them all the details as to why you're disputing this charge. Be ready to send them pictures and written reports. Good Luck.

I am sure I will. It's just the MAJOR hassle of it all. I haven't heard from him yet but he's in CA so I will give him a couple more hours this morning.

Spoke to the dealer and he said send it back for the refund and just send him tracking info for the shipping $$$. How do I protect myself from sending it back and just being out of everything? I am so ready to get rid of this and just get a new one.

At least he says he will refund it so that is good but yes, I have no confidence in that business.

It's on the way back and I have a new one with a warranty coming (from a different dealer). It should be here Tueday. I have a LOT to hook up.
I will be comparing the Pioneer to my old Anthem D2 (which I sold when reality set in and I realized I paid over 5k for pre pro!) I was reading on AVS that a member upgraded to the D2 from the Pioneer and was hard pressed to say that there was a 5K improvement so I am psyched!

I am really curious to see how well the MCAC works in my room.

I have an 84TXSi and the MCACC works pretty good. Alot easier than doing it with my Ratshack SPL meter plus it equalizes for room accoustics too. Mine's pushing RT7's in the front, CS400i, and RT35i's in the rear with a PSW450.

Edit: It replaced a Denon 1802 so there was quite a learning curve.

Is it as accurate as the SPL meter? Can you articulate how the EQ affected the sound?

Almost right on when checked with the SPL meter. I might not have had it in the exact location as the calibration mic. Our family room has 6 large windows (read hard surfaces) and the EQ seemed to tune the speaks to the room. It sounds different than with the Denon, but I suppose there are alot of other reasons for that.

I have used both and consider a spl meter better and more accurate.

    Have fun
