That is one badass HT receiver from what I've read and heard. If I were doing an HT system this would most likely be the heart of a full LSi/SVS system. It's pricey but I'd take it over almost any of the "other" brands flagship models.

$2000 for the 700 and $3000 for the 700HD. Nice looking and solid units but ooooouch! $900 for the Onk 805 still looks pretty good.

No way I could pay $3000 for a receiver. I'll just have to wait till Outlaw gets off there **** and comes out with an HDMI switching Pre.Casey

There's a guy named Gonk over at the Outlaw forum that that thinks that they might have one out sometime next year, he seems to know alot about whats going on over there so maybe he's right, but I havn't looked around over there in a while so this might have changed.Casey

If you read the manual, they are only 109watts RMS, only 5 channels, and HDMI 1.1. Comes with the 10+ year old design Home Theater master remote.
Seems a bit dated for the price. -
Damn Jim, just buy something already, you have pulled up every amp, speaker, etc... known to man.

I wish Adcom would (finally) move away from the "ribbed" faceplate style.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country!

I have bought now, the speakers are paid for and will be here 6 weeks, I got a confirm call no turning back this time. My amp will be paid for by the end of the weeks and the preamp I am still hunting for or may just end up sing my NAD:)2 CHANNEL

$600 for a HDMI switcher. I bought a 3/1 with remote for $50. You can get an HDMI loaded Onk for that price.

Thanks for the heads up but I also need the audio side of HDMI for the new audio formats, DD+, TrueHD, and DTS HD.Casey

millerman, have your considered the new Onkyo models to tie you over for awhile. I get mine today. I'm pretty excited about it. 3 HDMI's and 2 component cables with 1 HDMI to the projector with top of the line upconversion. That's gonna rock.

Oh Yeah, I've thought about it, but I just dropped 600 bucks on a panny BD player so I won't be getting anything for alittle while, and I really don't want to put any more money in to a receiver right now, I'm ready to see what this PRE/PRO thing is really all about( with a true pre amp not a receiver). Hopfully by X-mas Outlaw will have something out and I'll have something nice under the tree.:D
Found this over at the outlaw forum today so maybe it won't be to long. The 5th paragraph down.

It's a nice receiver and priced pretty good in my opnion. It's got serious power and HDMI switching. 1.1 is gooing to be around for quite awhile. If you have hard to drive speakers, this would be something I would look into.
It's not always about the features, sometimes sound quality is more improtant to some of us. But I like my features 2.
