I'm looking for a Tri-Vista 300 to replace my pre and amps. Next will be the appropriate ICs and speaker wires to dial it in.

AvantGarde looks interesting........big horns, maybe a Musical Fidelity Kw integrated. Would not mind adding a BAT digital source, those are three things on my radar right now anyway.

I also want to explore some mid-fi SET amps and single driver speakers with high efficiency.

New Parasound pre and or possibly a Parasound amp to match current or future Parasound pre.

Not sure why I'v suddenly turned this way. More curiousity than anything I suspect. It seems like a bad idea to part with the Rotel but that will be required at least for a new amp.....hmmmm.

    In no particular order...

New TT (to replace a broken Pioneer PL-2)

The Clamp (to make new TT ^^ sound great)

RTi10s ( OK, these may have to be first)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

When I can afford something nice again, it will probably be either a 2nd TT rig (to supplement, not replace, my current TT) or a plasma HDTV.

I went nuts during the Tweeter Going Out of Business Sale, buying LSi's 5.1 (.1 = Outlaw). Now, my fun money fund is empty and I'm saving up for an amp.

Nice. What did you get? If you're running them with Yamaha HTR, you definately want an amp depending which LSi's you got. If you're in DFW area as I remember stop by, I have a few amps that drive LSi's that I could part with (5ch and 2ch), or watch out for RussMan's posts.

    Hey,
Thanks Sami. I picked up a pair of 15's, 9's, and 7's. I was using the 9 as a center but OneCall was giving away an open box LsiC and I couldn't resist. Right now, I'm only driving the 15's since the Yammie can't handle a full 4ohm surround setup so I'd be interested to hear a proper setup. Are you running all LSi's? PM me so we can hook up later.

    Much appreciated, thx

I was about 5 minutes late on Friday from getting an ebony pair of Lsi9s for $300. Guy was at the register with them while I was searching the store to find out where they went.

No question...a "real" amplifier. I have some amps available and am really impressed with the Parasound for what it is (performs way beyond it's price point), but I'm going to need something better. Unfortunately, I'm at least a year out.

hurt more when I tried to buy some Lsi7s that the saleman told me were $175/pr, only to have the manager come in and say (while I was trying to hand over the cash as fast as possible), that they were $175 a piece.

Tough, tough trip to Tweeter. I even helped the other guy (with the 9's) carry out the $1200 of gear he bought, and offered him $350 for his Lsi9s on the spot.

Too bad we are leaving for the House of the Mouse tomorrow, going to take in Sea World and see Disney Joe as well, I gave the Woodshed a kiss goodbye already.

I still pick up several new CDs and/or LPs per month...but in reality I have more music than I can listen to in a reasonable period of time. I'm quite happy with all my gear at present. If something bites the dust I'll upgrade. Maybe some new ICs... Maybe add a sub... Maybe just rotate in some of the gear sitting in the basement... I am currently not in an acquisition mode.

Thats what I miss down here. I don't really have good friends down here but 1. My only other good friend moved. At home people are more family orientated. I am going for a visit soon(July 6th). I can't wait. I hope things get better for you Bill.

I am considering a new preamp, definately tubed. I want to break free of the pre section in my NAD integrated.

I am also considering doing some crossover mods to my JBL studio monitors. So, with that in mind, do capacitors and resistors count? :D
