Here is an older thread on the TAD-60's. I've owned the TAD-1000 monoblocks and a pair of the 2006 TAD-60's and enjoyed them very much. Paul Grzybek is excellent to deal with too.

I can second Rich's comment. The proof is that I am still a happy owner of the TAD-1000's monoblocks and one single TAD-60.

Agreed that Paul has EXCELLENT CS & is a helluva a nice guy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tim with the TAD-60's. They are a no-brainer IMHO.

my speakers are usher 6381 with an 8 ohm load at 87 db.
what speakers were you using and what are the specs?
how do you think it would mate with the ushers? bill at response audio said the ushers were an easy load and 60+ watts should do fine. which power tubes in the tad60 produce the most power (tube newbie:) )

I was using it to power a pair of Von Schweikert VR-2's.

It did a FINE job with them.

    Rated at:

    Sensitivity & Impedance:
87.5 dB @ one watt/one meter, anechoic. 90 dB in room. 8 ohms nominal, 7 ohms low to 20 ohms high.

Then I moved on to a pair of InnerSound Eros MK II's (ESL Hybrid). So I purchased another TAD-60 (one for the panels & one for the woofers). Again, they did a FINE job. I was worried about the difficult load the panels place on amplifiers so I went with SS from InnerSound.

As for favorite tubes - I liked the Tung Sol 6550's. Others preferred the JJ KT-77's. The 6550's give a bit more bottom end - guess you could say it is a warmer sounding tube. The JJ is a good "all purpose" tube IMO.
